When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Quwaizah is less dense than Al Rawabi or Ghulail, housing medium-sized factories and specialist workshops with varying heat loads. Some plants are newly built, others are expansions of existing facilities, so AC systems may be mixed or hybrid old and new. The southern location means strong sun exposure, especially west-facing walls, and coastal humidity affects metals but less severely than Ghulail. Flexibility matters here because some plants may request additions or modifications to existing systems.

Quwaizah is in southern Jeddah's emerging industrial belt, mixing food and container factories with specialist workshops.

Factories here use a mix of central chillers and package units, depending on plant size and when they were built.

The AC setup in Quwaizah

  1. 1

    Central chiller for large plants

Large Quwaizah plants use central chillers feeding distributed air-handling units across floors or zones.

  2. 2

Package units for medium plants and workshops

Medium-sized plants and workshops typically rely on rooftop package units for flexibility and cost-effectiveness.

  3. 3

    Mixed legacy and new systems

Many expansions here mix older units with new ones, requiring careful design to ensure compatibility and efficiency.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Quwaizah

  1. 1

Send us the plant layout and any planned expansions

Tell us the current space and any future additions so we design a system that grows with you.

  2. 2

Ensure safe access to roofs and outdoor units

Confirm the roof is safe to walk on and outdoor units can be serviced from a secure location with no hazards or obstacles.

  3. 3

Tell us of any production limits or hot spots

If some production equipment or zones are hotter than others, tell us so we can focus cooling there precisely.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

Can you add cooling units to an existing older system?

Yes, we measure current and additional heat load, and either safely connect new units to the existing system or replace it entirely, depending on your situation.

West-facing roofs and walls get intense sun, do we need extra insulation?

Yes, we recommend thermal insulation on the roof and west walls, and select high-efficiency cooling units to reduce load and cut power costs.

The sea is close; do I need frequent pipe updates?

Salt effects here are less severe than at Ghulail, but we advise regular coil and pipe cleaning every 6 to 8 weeks and use of protected tubing.

The factory wants to cut electricity bills, can we improve efficiency?

We inspect compressors and fans and tune operating speeds, plus recommend regular maintenance and filter cleaning to protect efficiency.
