When you need a medical HVAC specialist

  1. 1

    Hospital or clinic under construction

The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.

  2. 2

Departments reporting warm air or odours

In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.

  3. 3

Maintenance contract for a running facility

A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey and requirements

We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.

  3. 3

    Phased coordinated installation

In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and follow-up

We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Quwaizah is a developing residential district with buildings of mixed age and design, some older and some newer, experiencing gradual growth in medical investment. Health centres and clinics here often sit in converted residential buildings or small commercial blocks, so designs must be flexible within existing constraints. Thermal loads are moderate, but maintenance must be accessible and responsive to prevent medical operations being affected.

Quwaizah sits in southern Jeddah, a growing residential area with mixed buildings experiencing steady growth in small and medium medical investment.

Most health centres and clinics in Quwaizah use separate split units or semi-central systems suited to their limited floor area.

The AC setup in Quwaizah

  1. 1

Separate split units per clinic or office

Most small clinics in Quwaizah use independent split units per clinic, easing installation and maintenance in older buildings.

  2. 2

    Semi-central cooling for larger clinics

Larger clinics may use semi-central cooling covering multiple departments, with one or two air-handling units.

  3. 3

Air handling with effective basic filters

We fit effective filters in the air-handling unit to provide clean air to medical departments without over-complicating the system.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Quwaizah

  1. 1

Send photos and a floor plan

Send exterior and interior photos and a floor plan showing each clinic's location and areas so we understand constraints before visiting.

  2. 2

Book a time outside clinic hours

Choose a time outside patient reception hours so we do not obstruct medical work during the visit.

  3. 3

Ask the building manager for roof and outdoor space access

Confirm the building manager will allow safe access to the roof or outdoor spaces where outdoor units will be mounted.

FAQ

Questions about Hospital HVAC

How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?

Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.

Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?

Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.

What governs duct network design in a medical building?

Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?

We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.

Our clinic is small in an old residential building; can you install cooling?

Yes, we assess the building and choose between separate splits or a semi-central system suited to your space without major structural changes.

Can you work around constraints in old building wiring and plumbing?

Yes, we design ducts and connections flexibly to avoid conflicts with existing old systems, using alternative distribution points when needed.

Intense summer heat strains the outdoor unit; how do you manage it?

We place the outdoor unit in shade from direct sunlight and install auxiliary cooling base if needed to improve system efficiency.

Do you check pipes, drainage and electrics before starting work?

Yes, we carry out a full inspection of existing systems and confirm drainage and electrical supply are sound before any installation.
