When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

What sets this district apart

Al Ajawid is a fast-growing area with an increasing number of restaurants, cafés and grocery shops, many in relatively modern buildings or shopping malls. These food outlets store large quantities of meat, poultry and fresh goods, so the fridges face intense daily use in this hot climate. Grease builds up on the condenser and vents faster because of heavy cooking and steam, which calls for routine checks and regular cleaning.

Al Ajawid lies in south Jeddah, a fast-growing commercial and residential area with a high density of food shops and restaurants.

Most restaurants and shops here use upright or chest-type fridges with large capacity, placed in compact kitchens or enclosed back storage areas.

The AC setup in Al Ajawid

  1. 1

    Large upright commercial fridge

Most Al Ajawid restaurants use large upright models with glass or metal doors, sited in the shop front or kitchen storage area.

  2. 2

    Chest-type cooler for small shops

Small grocery shops and cafés often use open or semi-closed chest coolers to display drinks and dairy products.

  3. 3

Multiple coolers in larger restaurant kitchens

Larger restaurants run two or more units, one for storage and one on display, multiplying the maintenance demands.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Ajawid

  1. 1

    Specify the fridge's exact location

Tell us whether the fridge is in the front kitchen or back storage, and whether it's in a mall or a standalone shop.

  2. 2

Ensure the condenser area is accessible

The condenser is usually behind or below the unit, so check there is enough clear space with no boxes or stock blocking it.

  3. 3

Coordinate with the shop or kitchen manager

In larger restaurants, alert the manager or chef to the visit time to avoid clashing with cooking and service hours.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

My fridge in a tight kitchen heats up quickly, is that normal?

No, tight kitchens concentrate heat around the fridge if ventilation is poor. We check the space behind the unit and the condenser to ensure cold air flows freely.

My shop is in a mall, how do your team get in?

We coordinate with the mall management in advance to set a visit time and understand any access restrictions. Send us the shop number and mall name when booking.

Kitchen steam affects my fridge, how often should I clean it?

Cooking steam and grease block the condenser vents quickly in restaurants. We recommend inspection and cleaning at least every two months to maintain cooling efficiency.

My fridge is in a back storage room, does weak power affect cooling?

Weak power reduces the compressor's output and raises temperature. We check the electrical connection quality and voltage before any other repair.
