When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

What sets this district apart

Kilo 14 is a mixed commercial and residential area with many small restaurants, cafés, bakeries and food shops packed during peak hours. Commercial fridges here run at high capacity and face added pressures from road dust, coastal humidity and grease buildup from nearby cooking. Regular maintenance is essential to prevent sudden shutdowns that affect sales and stock.

Kilo 14 lies in south Jeddah, a busy commercial district known for its many restaurants, cafés and diverse food shops.

Most commercial fridges in Kilo 14 are medium to large under-counter or glass-door display units, and the rear condensers trap dust and grease quickly.

The AC setup in Kilo 14

  1. 1

Glass-door display fridges for drinks and products

Most shops and cafés in Kilo 14 use glass-door display fridges, with the condenser at the rear exposed to grease and dust from the nearby streets.

  2. 2

    Under-counter fridges in small kitchens

Small restaurants and fast-food outlets in the area use under-counter units for space, requiring precise water drainage and regular seal checks.

  3. 3

Central cooling in bakeries and larger shops

Larger bakeries and supermarkets in Kilo 14 sometimes run a central cooling system serving multiple chambers, requiring full servicing of the compressor, evaporator and piping.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Kilo 14

  1. 1

Close or schedule maintenance outside peak hours

Kilo 14 shops and restaurants run busy all day, so schedule the fridge service in the early morning or after closing to avoid losing sales.

  2. 2

Ensure access to the rear condenser

Fridges are often pushed against walls or into cooking corners; confirm the team can reach the rear condenser for full cleaning before the visit.

  3. 3

Point out the water drain and power outlet

Tell us where the drainage hose and power outlet are located to save time and prevent any damage during servicing.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

My restaurant fridge loses temperature during peak hours, what should I do?

Usually a grease-and-dust-clogged condenser cuts cooling efficiency. Our team cleans the condenser and fan, checks the door seal to ensure the fridge holds temperature even under heavy use.

My shop's fridge sits near the cooking area, does that damage it?

Yes, grease and steam from cooking coat the condenser and coils, so the fridge needs more frequent servicing than usual in these locations.

Jeddah's coastal humidity affects our equipment, does that mean more repairs?

Coastal humidity accelerates corrosion in metal seals and fan blades, but regular servicing reduces issues and extends the fridge's life.

How often should I book routine servicing for my restaurant fridge?

It depends on how hard the fridge is working and how close it is to the cooking area. We suggest a check every three to four weeks for busy restaurant units; send a photo on WhatsApp for a recommendation fitted to your setup.
