When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

What sets this district apart

Umm Sidrah is a medium-density residential-commercial district in north-east Jeddah, with food shops and small bakeries mixed among apartment blocks. Fridges in these shops run long hours because demand peaks in morning and afternoon, and the area lacks advanced industrial ventilation. Trapped heat and rapid flour and grease build-up from bakeries make the condenser coils prone to quick clogging.

Umm Sidrah sits in north-east Jeddah, a mixed district of apartment blocks, small shops and local bakeries.

Most shops and bakeries in Umm Sidrah use two-door display fridges, often with small outdoor units on the shops' narrow facades.

  2. 2

    Outdoor units on shop facades

Outdoor units are usually mounted on narrow shop facades, next to windows or directly above doors.

  3. 3

Extra small fridges in back kitchens

Small restaurants and bakeries may have an extra small fridge in the back kitchen for temperature-sensitive items.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

The bakery oven is next to my fridge, does its heat affect cooling?

Yes, strongly, oven heat increases the cooling load and flour and grease from baking accumulate on the coils, so weekly cleaning and distance from the oven help.

The shop is small and space is cramped, how do you service the fridge?

We coordinate beforehand to choose a quieter time, and we service the fridge in place or move it carefully if needed.

Humidity from baking and cooking is very high, does it cause mould in the fridge?

Yes, high humidity speeds up mould growth in the drain pan and coils, so regular cleaning and a dehumidifier help when possible.

The shop's wiring is old and unorganised, does it affect the fridge?

Weak wiring may reduce voltage to the compressor and fan, so a dedicated circuit for the fridge is advisable and avoid sharing with other appliances.
