When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

What sets this district apart

Al Gharbiyah is a relatively modern district with medium malls and shops spread across mid-rise buildings, known as an active commercial zone. Dry, intense heat strains compressors and condensers, especially in summer, and dust clogs filters quickly. HVAC systems here need quarterly filter and coil cleaning to prevent breakdowns and excess power use, and regular compressor and contactor maintenance is essential.

Al Gharbiyah is a commercial northern Jeddah district with malls and shops in modern mid-rise buildings.

Most Al Gharbiyah shops have powerful split units or duct units, and the dry dust requires filter changes every 4 to 6 weeks.

The AC setup in Al Gharbiyah

  1. 1

Powerful split unit or multiple units

Al Gharbiyah shops need very powerful split units or multiple units because of intense heat and direct sun exposure.

  2. 2

    Ducted system with ceiling units

Larger malls may use balanced duct systems with ceiling units to distribute cooled air evenly across long corridors.

  3. 3

    High-capacity outdoor units

Outdoor units in Al Gharbiyah are usually oversized for capacity, and positioned in sheltered spots away from dust as much as possible.

Before the visit

Book an early morning or evening slot

Avoid midday crowds and peak heat, and confirm an early time before 10 am or after 6 pm with us.

  2. 2

Outdoor units usually sit in direct sun, so confirm our team can reach them safely with enough space to work without heat exposure.

  3. 3

Show us where dust accumulates most

Tell us where you see dust building up most around the outdoor unit or ducts, so we focus cleaning on those spots.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

Dust in Al Gharbiyah clogs filters fast, how do we reduce the problem?

We recommend our shop clients change filters every 4 to 6 weeks instead of quarterly, and clean the coils and condenser every two months to remove accumulated dust.

The compressor sounds strained, is it the extreme heat?

Yes, dry intense heat stresses the compressor heavily, especially if filters are clogged or coils are dirty. An annual inspection at minimum confirms compressor, valve and oil integrity.

Does AC in summer use more power than normal?

Yes, intense heat and low humidity push the compressor into high-intensity cycles. Regular condenser and coil cleaning improves system efficiency and may noticeably reduce consumption.

When is best to schedule a full maintenance check in summer?

We recommend a full service just before summer in spring, and a quick check mid-summer if temperatures are brutal. We arrange evening or early morning time away from peak sales.
