When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Marsa is an active coastal commercial zone where shops and malls face direct sea humidity and salt air, accelerating corrosion in outdoor units and metal ducts unless built from corrosion-resistant materials. High humidity also raises cooling load on the dehumidifying side and strains drainage; shops here need more frequent checks of fans, coils and drains to prevent biological growth and rot.

Al Marsa is in south Jeddah near the coast, an open commercial zone exposed directly to sea humidity and salt air.

Most coastal shops and malls here use insulated copper units and aluminium ducts treated against corrosion.

The AC setup in Al Marsa

  1. 1

    Central system with salt-treated ducts

Ducts here have extra protective coatings against salt corrosion and sea moisture throughout the year.

  2. 2

    Copper units with reinforced insulation

Outdoor and copper units are wrapped in reinforced insulation to protect from salt, moisture and UV exposure.

  3. 3

Dual drainage system at high pressure

Dual drainage here maintains fast removal of condensate, salt and mould without pooling in pans or ducts.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Marsa

  1. 1

Inspect balcony and roof for prior salt damage

Check for rust or salt damage on structures and metal before the visit to assess mounting strength.

  2. 2

Ensure outdoor unit access is easy and safe

The outdoor unit must be in a location allowing safe quarterly inspection and cleaning without risk to the team.

  3. 3

Agree on quarterly maintenance schedule in advance

Set a schedule of quarterly visits now to maintain performance and protect against salt and mould.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

Salt and humidity here ruin AC units quickly; how do you protect them?

We use copper units and corrosion-treated ducts, coat exposed parts with protective layers, and design powerful drainage systems.

Does coastal shop HVAC need more frequent maintenance?

Yes, we recommend quarterly checks instead of annual. We inspect coils, fans and drains to prevent salt and mould accumulation.

High humidity causes mould in the unit; how do you stop this?

We fit an extra dehumidifier in the ducts, run drainage at high pressure after each cycle, and test the quality of air leaving the outlets.

Can the outdoor unit go on a balcony facing the sea directly?

Yes, but we recommend extra protection from spray and salt. We select units with treated casings and direct airflow away from the sea.
