When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

- Maintenance contracts off peak
How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Air distribution | Load study per zone | One unit for the whole space |
| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Al Qurayyat is a relatively modern commercial zone in south Jeddah with individual shops, small-to-medium malls and modern open-plan buildings, offering wider outdoor space since buildings are less dense. Direct sun hammers shop frontages hard in midday and afternoon, pushing heat load sharply, and cooling runs at high intensity all summer. Maintenance can be scheduled more flexibly here due to lighter foot traffic than central Jeddah.
Al Qurayyat is in south Jeddah, a modern commercial zone of shops, clinics and residential buildings spaced wider apart than central areas.
Most shops here run split units or central systems with outdoor units on spacious roofs because of the open layout.
The AC setup in Al Qurayyat
- 1
High-capacity split units
Al Qurayyat shops use split units with above-average capacity to handle heavy heat loads from direct sun and glass.
- 2
Central systems with insulated ductwork
Larger malls use central systems with thermally insulated ductwork to reduce cooling loss and boost efficiency.
- 3
Heat-reflective shading
Modern shops install external reflective shades to reduce heat entry through glass fronts before the AC must handle it.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Qurayyat
- 1
Tell us about sun exposure and insulation
We need to know direct sun hours and wall and glass thermal quality to choose the right capacity.
- 2
Confirm roof location and outdoor unit site
Wide roofs need careful siting of the outdoor unit away from direct sun and exposed to wind for cooling.
- 3
Discuss electrical protection options
If power cuts are frequent, discuss with us installing a voltage regulator or backup battery to protect the AC.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
The sun here is fierce and my shop is all glass, how do you choose the unit?
We assess direct sun exposure and glass thermal performance, usually recommend a higher-capacity unit for the heavy load, and may suggest reflective shading too.
Our roofs are wide and very hot, does that affect the outdoor unit?
Yes, high roof heat reduces unit efficiency, so we mount it away from direct sun on a raised stand with good ventilation around it.
My new shop has good insulation but heat comes in from the doors, is that normal?
Yes, open doors in intense heat let hot air in, so we recommend air curtains or self-closing doors to reduce loss.
Power cuts happen sometimes in summer, does that damage the AC?
Repeated power cuts can stress the compressor, so we recommend a voltage regulator or backup battery to protect the unit from damage.
