When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Muzaira'ah is a modern commercial-residential district with shops in small malls and shop rows mixed with surrounding residential blocks. Heat is high year-round and the location between main roads means moderate dust. Shops here are mostly independently owned or part of small malls without complex finishes, allowing simple, effective split or medium-capacity central systems. AC here focuses on steady temperature with simple upkeep and fewer recurring faults.

Al Muzaira'ah is in north Jeddah, a district of small distributed shops and malls mixed with residential blocks, with high heat and a location between main roads.

Most small shops and malls here use one or two split units, or a simple central system without complex ductwork.

The AC setup in Al Muzaira'ah

  1. 1

    Single split for small shops

Small independent shops here use one split unit providing fit-for-purpose cooling without complexity or extra cost.

  2. 2

    Dual split for mid-sized shops

Wider shops may use two separate split units, each one balancing temperature in one shop section efficiently.

  3. 3

Simple central system for small malls

Small malls with one or two shops may benefit from a simple central unit with no complex ducts, delivering air directly.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

My shop is small with a tight budget; what system fits me best?

One or two split units are enough for a small shop. Size is chosen by floor area, expected foot traffic and lighting. This costs less than a central system and is easy to maintain.

Maintenance costs are eating into my profits; how do you reduce breakdowns?

A simple split system needs less maintenance than a complex central one. We recommend filter cleaning every two months and coil cleaning every three months, plus a quick six-month check that prevents most faults.

Should I upgrade the system if foot traffic increases?

If the shop expands or foot traffic grows permanently, we recalculate the thermal load. You may need to add a second split unit or boost capacity. Annual checks catch this early.

Doors opening constantly wastes cold air; any solutions?

Air curtains or door strips over entrances reduce cold loss. A unit sized right handles hot air ingress easily without slow response.
