Retail cooling without downtime
Mall & retail HVAC in Al Murjan
In Al Murjan, a rapidly developing mixed residential and commercial zone north of Jeddah with modern shopping centres and residential towers, retail HVAC must handle intense heat and coexist with neighbouring residential systems. We install and support flexible solutions for new and expanding shopping centres.
- Separate tenants
- Rooftop packaged
- Off-hours service

When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|

| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Al Murjan mixes tall residential buildings with medium-sized modern shopping centres on relatively wide streets with accelerating urban development. New shops and malls here are still expanding, and electrical infrastructure may not fully support very large cooling loads. We choose systems balancing efficiency with adaptability to available local power. Maintenance must be flexible because shops and malls may change operating hours as they grow and expand.
Al Murjan sits north of Jeddah as a fast-growing district mixing residential buildings with modern shopping centres on relatively spacious streets.
Most new malls and shops in Al Murjan use a central AC system with one or two air handlers, with outdoor units on roofs or in open areas beside the shops.
The AC setup in Al Murjan
- 1
Straightforward central system for medium malls
New malls and shops in Al Murjan typically use just one or two air handlers, simplifying maintenance and future expansion.
- 2
Safe roofs for outdoor units
Modern construction in Al Murjan provides safe, accessible roofs for outdoor unit installation without structural complications.
- 3
Flexibility for expansion and modification
Systems here are designed to allow later unit additions or modifications as shops and malls grow.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
Residential buildings are close to the mall, does retail AC affect residents?
We position outdoor units away from residential windows and monitor noise levels, using low-noise units where possible.
The electrical grid in Al Murjan is new, can it handle large loads?
We check electrical capacity first and may recommend circuit upgrades or a lower-capacity system matched to local grid limits.
Mall hours may change as the zone develops, does that affect maintenance scheduling?
Yes, so we coordinate flexibly and adjust the maintenance schedule to match changing operational needs.
New shops have not yet had their AC tested, do they need initial commissioning?
Yes, we perform inspection, testing and commissioning right after installation to ensure performance before operation starts.
