When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Air distribution | Load study per zone | One unit for the whole space |
| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Al Tadamun mixes residential and commercial buildings of varying age and development, with large and small shops plus some simple local malls. Floor plates vary widely, ceilings range from low to high, and few buildings have working central HVAC already. System choice calls for precise space and heat-load measurement and electrical safety checks, and installing separate split units or light central plant often proves cheaper and easier than retrofitting old buildings.
Al Tadamun lies in south Jeddah, a mixed residential-commercial district with buildings of varying age and development level.
Shops here range from small split units to old window AC, with few having a functioning central system.
The AC setup in Al Tadamun
- 1
Separate split unit per small shop
Small Al Tadamun shops typically receive one or two independent split units, without the need for complex central coordination.
- 2
Light central system for a local mall
Simpler local malls in Al Tadamun sometimes receive a modest central system if floor space warrants it and the electrical supply supports it.
- 3
Updated window unit for older shops
Very old shops that cannot take wall modifications may keep an updated window unit rather than having new apertures cut.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Tadamun
- 1
Measure the shop precisely and map heat sources
Before the visit, share the shop's dimensions, windows, doors, lighting and heat-generating equipment so we size the unit accurately.
- 2
Check electrical circuits and breakers
Ensure the electrical panel is nearby and there is a dedicated breaker or space for a new one for the AC unit.
- 3
Locate outdoor unit and drain point
Identify where the outdoor unit and AC drain line will go, so they don't occupy visible areas or conflict with adjoining tenants or landlord rules.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
I have a small shop in Al Tadamun, do I need central AC or will a split unit suffice?
We visit, measure the space, openings and insulation, then recommend what fits. Most small shops here are adequately served by one or two split units.
The building has multiple shops, can each one have its own separate AC system?
Yes, most mixed buildings here allow separate units per shop without complex coordination, as long as electrical capacity is adequate.
South Jeddah's heat is intense, will the AC cope all summer?
We select units sized for the intense heat and humidity of the south, and recommend pre-summer maintenance to ensure full performance through the season.
Where does the AC condensate drain in a shop with a raised or low floor level?
We determine the drain route based on floor level and surrounding walls, typically connecting to the existing waste system or adding a collection box if needed.
