When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Air distribution | Load study per zone | One unit for the whole space |
| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Al Tawfeeq is a developing area with small retail shops and commercial complexes ranging from narrow storefronts to wider modern centres. Eastern heat and fine dust increase pressure on cooling units, and repeated door openings for customers cut the efficiency of both central and split systems. The choice of AC type depends on shop size and layout; some outlets may need higher-capacity units or extra fans to balance ventilation and cooling.
Al Tawfeeq lies in east Jeddah, an area of local markets with small shops and varied retail frontages.
Shops here mix high-capacity split units with powerful window AC systems, especially in narrow frontages where outdoor space for a split is limited.
The AC setup in Al Tawfeeq
- 1
High-capacity split for mid-sized shops
Mid-sized shops here typically use a 3, 4 horsepower split unit, with the outdoor unit mounted on the side or rear corner.
- 2
Powerful window units for narrow frontages
Very narrow frontages here rely on powerful 1.5, 2 horsepower window units, mounted directly in a window or facade opening.
- 3
Helper fans for air circulation
Some larger shops add ceiling or wall-mounted helper fans to distribute cool air evenly across the space.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Tawfeeq
- 1
Check facade space and rear outlet
Before the visit, confirm the facade is safe to work on and the path to the rear area (where the outdoor unit sits) is clear and secure.
- 2
Arrange with the shop owner about service time
Inform the shop owner of the service time in advance, especially if servicing requires briefly shutting down the AC or accessing an interior area.
- 3
Provide safe power access for equipment
Ensure a safe power outlet near the work area, and check that the electrical load is not exceeded if the wiring is old or weak.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
Our shop has a narrow frontage, which AC type is best?
If the frontage is very narrow with no outdoor space, a powerful window unit or a small split system mounted on the corner is best. We assess the space before recommending.
Doors opening all day weaken the AC, how do we fix this?
Upgrading the AC capacity or fitting extra fans helps distribute cool air more evenly and reduces heat loss from constantly opening doors.
Does the eastern dust increase AC unit wear?
Yes, the fine eastern dust accumulates quickly in air filters and outdoor coils. Monthly or bi-monthly filter cleaning is vital to keep units efficient.
Does over-cooling the shop reduce moisture in the stock?
Yes, over-cooling reduces relative humidity quickly, which can damage certain goods. We recommend setting a moderate temperature (22, 24°C) to balance comfort with stock protection.
