When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Kinanah is a rapidly developing district with ongoing construction of modern retail, residential and commercial buildings in parallel phases. The newer buildings generally follow clear modern design standards, but the range of construction phases and contractors means design and build quality can vary significantly shop to shop. Intense heat and coastal humidity stress the HVAC systems, and the swinging loads from shoppers and lighting throughout the day demand intelligent systems with continuous monitoring and frequent maintenance.

Kinanah sits in east Jeddah, a rapidly expanding district with retail and residential blocks in successive construction phases.

Kinanah's newer retail shops mostly use modern split units or small central systems since the buildings are recent, but some slightly older shops in the district's earlier phase still run simple units needing upgrade.

The AC setup in Kinanah

  1. 1

Modern split units with smart controls

New shops in Kinanah use smart-controlled split units that adjust cooling by time and load, cutting energy use and raising comfort.

  2. 2

Compact central systems for larger retail

Larger shops in Kinanah need reliable compact central systems to distribute air evenly and handle variable loads from customers and lighting.

  3. 3

Scalable systems aligned with shop growth

We design systems to allow additional outdoor units or expanded distribution if the shop grows later, without replacing all copper piping.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Kinanah

  1. 1

Confirm construction completion and outdoor spaces

If the shop is still under construction, confirm that exterior structures and the roof are complete before we fix the outdoor unit location.

  2. 2

Get electrical drawings and architectural design

Obtain copies of the original architectural design and electrical drawings from the contractor or engineer before our visit to speed up design.

  3. 3

Plan installation for the week before opening

Coordinate with your team to install and test the system in the final week before opening, allowing time to resolve any last-minute issues.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

My shop is brand new with no AC yet, what system suits the space and heat?

We visit and survey the space, windows and heat load. Most new shops in Kinanah suit modern split units or a compact central system depending on size and budget.

Kinanah is expanding fast, can the system be expanded later?

We select scalable systems from the start. If you expand to an adjacent unit, we can add an outdoor unit and rebalance the indoor distribution without overhauling the whole system.

The outside air is hot and dry here, does that affect my AC?

Dry air reduces the humidity load slightly, but intense heat remains the main challenge. We recommend regular cleaning of the outdoor unit and shading or screening to cut direct heat absorption.

My shop opens in two months, can you install now?

We can install ahead, but we recommend deferring final details like full testing and handover to the week before opening to ensure everything runs perfectly on day one.
