When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Falah is an active retail neighbourhood in east Jeddah, mixing small and mid-sized shops along a straightforward main street. Shops sometimes sit in buildings with residential flats, complicating ductwork routing and acoustic isolation. Open doors during business hours bring dust and humidity inside, so regular filter and condenser servicing is vital to protect stock and equipment.

Al Falah sits in east Jeddah, a mixed retail neighbourhood where shops and residential flats often share the same building.

Most small and mid-sized shops in Al Falah run split units, with larger shops occasionally needing wall units or dual splits.

The AC setup in Al Falah

  1. 1

    Independent split unit per shop

Most Al Falah shops are small enough for a single robust split unit that covers the area and handles both temperature and humidity.

  2. 2

Low-noise wall units for mixed buildings

Buildings with both shops and flats need quiet indoor units to avoid disturbing residents in the residential floors above.

  3. 3

Humidity control for textile and clothing stock

Shops selling textiles and clothing benefit from units with built-in humidity sensors to prevent mould and excess moisture.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Falah

  1. 1

Arrange timing outside main trading hours

Schedule installation or servicing outside peak trading hours to avoid disrupting sales or clashing with shop operations.

  2. 2

Inform neighbours if they are in the same building

If residential flats are in the building, tell neighbours about the work schedule, especially if installation involves drilling or wall piercing.

  3. 3

Verify drainage outlet and outdoor unit placement

Ensure the drainage outlet from the indoor unit will not leak onto the flat below, and that the outdoor unit has a safe mounting spot on the facade or roof.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

Cold air escapes from my shop door, is the system weak?

That is normal when the door opens, but we can choose a higher-capacity unit and fit an air curtain above the door to reduce losses.

I live above my shop and my AC disturbs the neighbours, how do you fix this?

We select indoor units with low noise levels and recommend acoustic insulation around the outdoor unit if needed.

My stock of textiles is humidity-sensitive, how is it protected?

We select units with precise humidity sensors and recommend weekly checks of relative humidity to keep stock in safe conditions.

AC piping might damage walls and paint, what is the solution?

We route pipes through concealed channels where possible, protect holes with neat covers, and agree with you on the method before starting.
