When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Air distribution | Load study per zone | One unit for the whole space |
| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Madinat Al Sultan is a modern residential and retail development with shops on ground floors and residential towers, medium-sized retail spaces with central or split systems, outdoor units usually on shared roofs or tight balconies. The district gets very hot in summer with sun hitting facades directly, so the system must respond to heat quickly and maintain healthy humidity balance without standing water in corridors or lower floors of the towers.
Madinat Al Sultan, in south Jeddah, is a modern urban development with shops and residential towers sharing roofs and mid-sized retail spaces.
Shops here run small central systems or multiple splits, with outdoor units on shared roofs alongside other shops or residential towers.
The AC setup in Madinat Al Sultan
- 1
Small central or multi-head split system
Medium retail spaces here opt for either a compact central system or several split units spread across the sales area.
- 2
Shared roofs under development management
Outdoor units on shared roofs are managed by the development office, and maintenance coordination goes through them to keep disruption minimal.
- 3
Drain management from multiple roof units
Multiple roof units mean multiple drain lines that need careful design to prevent water spilling on shops and flats below.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
The roof is shared with residential flats; does maintenance disturb residents?
We agree set service times with the development management, usually early morning or late afternoon, to keep noise and disruption away from residents.
The sun on glass facades is intense; how does the AC compensate?
We calculate heat load from glass, lighting and people, and choose units with sufficient capacity. We may suggest blinds or reflective coating on glass to reduce solar heat gain.
Sometimes water from the upper AC drips into the shop below; is that normal?
No, that signals a leak from the upper unit's drain or a blockage in the drain lines. We inspect duct routing, slope and outlets and fix any leak immediately.
The shop is packed during opening hours; does the AC balance cool with crowds?
Yes, we review peak hours and expected visitor numbers, and choose units that handle the combined heat from people, lighting and the open door.
