When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Prince Abdulmajeed hosts modern shopping centres and scattered retail units across relatively wide open spaces, with large car parks and developed public amenities. The central AC and distributed ducting systems here handle heavy heat loads and humidity pressure from dense footfall, and their routine maintenance during closing hours needs careful coordination with the centre management to prevent any breakdown during trading.

Prince Abdulmajeed lies in south Jeddah, a recently developed area with modern shopping centres and retail units set within planned urban spacing.

Most shopping centres here run central AC systems with ducting distributed across multiple floors and zones.

The AC setup in Prince Abdulmajeed

  1. 1

    Central system with distributed ducting

Modern shopping centres in Prince Abdulmajeed rely on central cooling units with ducting networks distributing air across floors and different retail zones.

  2. 2

Dedicated service area for outdoor units

Outdoor units and condensers are typically positioned in designated roof or rear areas of the centre to ease maintenance and sound isolation.

  3. 3

    Multi-zone temperature control systems

Splitting the mall into separate thermal zones allows precise temperature adjustment based on foot traffic and use in each area.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Prince Abdulmajeed

  1. 1

Coordinate maintenance timing with the mall's management

Schedule routine maintenance during closing hours or quieter trading times to avoid clashing with shop operations and customer flow.

  2. 2

    Confirm access to service areas

Check that roof access stairs or rear service areas are safe and clear so the team can reach outdoor units without hindrance.

  3. 3

Report any noticed faults or water leaks

If you notice water leaking from vents or cooling dropping in any zone, let us know before the visit so we bring the right tools.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

How do you handle the heat load changing throughout the mall's trading day?

Central systems in such centres are designed to absorb heat peaks during busy hours and door openings. We check thermostat and balancing valve efficiency during maintenance to ensure even distribution without over-cooling.

The mall sits on a busy main road with multiple entrances, does that strain the system?

Yes, multiple entrances and repeated opening to street heat increase the cooling load. We focus on cleaning air filters, coils and the blower during closing hours to maintain consistent performance.

The goods in the shops are moisture-sensitive, how do you keep humidity under control?

Maintaining the drain pan, piping and air vents is essential to prevent water leaking onto goods. We inspect these elements during every scheduled maintenance visit.

How fast can you repair a ducting fault without shutting the mall down?

That depends on the fault's location, the ducting scale and access to the affected area. We assess photos on WhatsApp for a quick evaluation and confirm the steps needed before visiting.
