When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Prince Fawaz North is a dense commercial zone with modern malls and diverse shops on relatively limited space, drawing large daily customer numbers especially evenings and weekends. High shopping density means extra heat from occupants and activity, and frequent door openings increase system stress. Shops sit close together, limiting outdoor-unit placement options, so coordination with mall and adjacent shop management is essential to avoid service gaps.

Prince Fawaz North lies in south Jeddah, a dense mall and retail market zone with high customer traffic.

Most malls here run advanced central HVAC with smart zone control, while smaller shops rely on multi-splits or ceiling-mounted units.

The AC setup in Prince Fawaz North

  1. 1

Central system with smart zone control

Malls in Prince Fawaz North use modern central systems with smart sensors that balance temperature based on occupancy in each zone.

  2. 2

    Multi-split with unified control panel

Adjacent smaller shops may share a unified control panel to simplify maintenance and management from one location.

  3. 3

Ceiling units in corridors and main entrance

Main corridors and entrances need distributed ceiling units to cover crowded areas without floor obstacles.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Prince Fawaz North

  1. 1

Agree service hours with mall management

High-traffic malls need service scheduled outside shopping hours, usually late evening or a day the mall is closed.

  2. 2

Map safe routes to outdoor units and ducts

Verify safe access routes to the roof and service areas without disrupting shop operations or customer experience.

  3. 3

    Brief adjacent shops and tenants

If service involves temporary shutdown or noise, notify adjacent shops and tenants of timing and duration to avoid surprises.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

The mall gets crowded in the evening, how does AC handle the extra heat from crowds?

We prioritize air distribution to high-traffic main zones and regularly test capacity during peak hours to ensure temperature does not drift.

Outdoor units are cramped due to closely spaced shops, how do you access them for service?

We coordinate with mall management on safe routes and scheduled service times, and may use lighter equipment or arrange temporary space adjustment in advance.

Ventilation gaps between shops are very tight, does that harm AC efficiency?

Yes, this can restrict airflow around outdoor units, so we regularly inspect ducts and outlets and ensure ventilation openings stay clear.

Customer numbers vary throughout the day, does smart control save energy during quieter times?

Yes, we programme the control system for expected occupancy patterns, so capacity adjusts down automatically during quiet periods and up at peaks, saving energy.
