Split AC installation in Al Faisaliyah

In Al Faisaliyah, central Jeddah's mixed residential and commercial towers demand careful split installation because the varied building heights create challenges for copper runs and drainage. Alrabih places both units with precision, vacuums the line before start-up, and ensures quiet cooling without wall drips from day one.

  • Mueller copper
  • Full vacuum
  • Proper drain

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Faisaliyah mixes modern residential towers, multi-storey commercial buildings and older villas, with building heights varying widely and affecting copper run lengths and the distance between indoor and outdoor units. In tall buildings, precise planning is needed to mount the outdoor unit on the roof or deep balcony, ensuring correct drainage slope over long runs. Coordination with building management and maintenance is vital to avoid clashing with existing electrical circuits and water pipes.

Al Faisaliyah sits in central Jeddah, blending modern residential towers, mixed-height commercial buildings and scattered older villas.

In the residential towers here, outdoor units are typically mounted on roofs or deep balconies, with copper runs sometimes reaching 15 metres or more.

The AC setup in Al Faisaliyah

  1. 1

Split systems in tall residential flats

Most flats in Al Faisaliyah's towers need a split with a long copper run from the flat to an outdoor unit on the roof or deep balcony.

  2. 2

Splits in offices and retail shops

The mixed-height commercial buildings need planning to place outdoor units on shared roofs in coordination with building management.

  3. 3

    Splits in scattered older villas

The older scattered villas in Al Faisaliyah usually need an outdoor unit on an external wall or yard, with good insulation to handle intense summer heat.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Faisaliyah

  1. 1

Notify building management of the visit

If installing in a tower or residential building, notify building management at least two days ahead to smooth access to roofs or balconies.

  2. 2

Confirm the outdoor unit location in advance

Confirm where the outdoor unit will go (roof, deep balcony, external wall), and check that the location is safe, away from direct heat sources and dust.

  3. 3

    Measure the distance between units

If the distance between indoor and outdoor units exceeds 10 metres, tell us before the visit so we can prepare a sufficiently long insulated copper run.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

Installing a split in a tall tower: does a long copper run affect cooling?

Longer copper runs need extra care with pipe insulation and professional vacuuming to prevent pressure loss and deliver full cooling. We follow strict standards for every length.

How do you coordinate with building management and maintenance before installation?

We ask the client to notify building management of the visit date, and we confirm with the maintenance team the routes of existing electrical and water lines before any drilling or fixing.

Heat, humidity and dust in central Jeddah: does this affect where we place the outdoor unit?

Yes, the outdoor unit in towers must be placed away from heat reflected by sun-facing walls, and in a location that allows good airflow to reduce compressor stress during Jeddah's hot summers.

Power cuts occasionally happen in towers: does this affect a new unit?

The unit itself tolerates power cuts, but we ensure the electrical connection runs through a proper isolated breaker, and we advise checking the wiring before summer.
