Split AC installation in Al Khalidiyah

Split AC installation in Al Khalidiyah suits a coastal west-side district mixing residential villas and modern apartment blocks. Alrabih's team positions both units with precision to withstand coastal humidity, runs insulated copper and drainage at the right slope, and vacuums the line before first start-up.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Khalidiyah is a coastal west-side district with residential villas and modern apartment blocks with reasonable spacing, but proximity to the sea means high humidity and salt air that affect metals and outdoor units. Persistent coastal humidity requires careful outdoor unit placement away from direct salt spray and corrosion-resistant mounting. The insulated copper must be high-grade, and drainage needs correct slope to prevent salt water pooling.

Al Khalidiyah sits on Jeddah's west coast, a coastal residential district of modern villas and blocks directly exposed to marine humidity and salt.

Most installations here choose split units with corrosion-resistant materials, with outdoor units carefully positioned away from direct salt spray.

The AC setup in Al Khalidiyah

  1. 1

Split unit with outdoor component protected from salt spray

Outdoor units are positioned in partially sheltered spots away from direct salt spray from seafront-facing facades.

  2. 2

High-grade insulated copper for salt resistance

Insulated copper is carefully selected with high quality and thick insulation to resist coastal salinity and persistent humidity.

  3. 3

Correctly sloped drainage for excess moisture

Drainage slopes at the right angle away from the unit and building to prevent salt water pooling and rapid corrosion.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Khalidiyah

  1. 1

    Choose a salt-protected location

Choose an outdoor unit location away from direct seafront faces and salt spray, such as the eastern side or a spot sheltered by a wall or fence.

  2. 2

Ensure good airflow despite the protection

The protected location must still have good airflow away from spray but not be completely enclosed. Verify the balance between protection and air before the visit.

  3. 3

Check drainage and runs near salt water

If runs are near drainage zones or high humidity, confirm drainage sits slightly above ground and no salt water pools in it.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

Does salt and sea humidity damage the copper run?

Yes, salt and high humidity accelerate corrosion. We use high-grade insulated copper with thick insulation, and choose copper routes carefully away from direct salt spray.

Parking near the beach, are there access issues?

Streets here are fairly wide but can get busy at certain times. We agree on the closest parking point before the visit to keep work efficient and schedules tight.

High humidity will create condensation on the outdoor unit, is drainage adequate?

Yes, we ensure drainage slopes at the correct angle away from the unit and building. High humidity demands reliable drainage to prevent water pooling and corrosion.

Direct sun and salt together, where is the safest place for the outdoor unit?

We choose a partially shaded spot away from direct salt spray from the sea, such as the building's eastern side or a relatively sheltered position. This reduces both corrosion and thermal load.
