Fitted right first time
Split AC installation in Al Andalus
In Al Andalus, west Jeddah, split installation in this coastal zone means protecting units from salt air and very high humidity. Alrabih uses corrosion-resistant materials and routes pipes and drainage carefully to keep the unit robust for years.
- Mueller copper
- Full vacuum

When you need a proper installer
- 1
A new unit for a room or flat
You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.
- 2
Not sure where the outdoor unit goes
In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.
- 3
A past install that went wrong
Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.
Who it's for
Moving into a new flat that needs AC
We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.
Ask on WhatsAppFitting AC in a shop or office
We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

What the installation covers
- Site check and unit positions
- Insulated copper, sealed wall core
- Drain line with correct fall
- Vacuum and leak test
- Start-up test with you present
How we work
How we work
- 1
Send a photo
WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.
- 2
Agree positions and route
On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.
- 3
Fit and vacuum
We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.
- 4
Start-up and handover
We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.
A careful install or a rushed one?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Vacuum | Pumped before start-up | Often skipped |
| Copper | Mueller, fully insulated | Patchy insulation |
| Drain | Falls, so no drips | Water down the wall |
| Outdoor unit spot | Airy and easy to reach | Wherever it fits |
| Wall opening | Sealed tight | Dust gets through |

What sets this district apart
Al Andalus is a relatively modern coastal residential district with villas and multi-storey apartment blocks, with regular streets and sea views. The location close to the water means very high humidity and salt in the air that quickly corrodes metals, wires and pipes. The climate is hot and harsh on outdoor units, and sea breezes carry salt spray that speeds corrosion. Installation must focus on choosing protected units, strong insulation and proper drainage.
Al Andalus sits in west Jeddah on the Red Sea, a modern coastal residential district of villas and apartment blocks near the beach.
Most villas and apartment blocks in Al Andalus are directly exposed to humidity and salt, and outdoor units need regular maintenance to avoid rapid corrosion.
The AC setup in Al Andalus
- 1
Outdoor units with salt-resistant materials
We select units with advanced coatings and extra protection against salt corrosion in the coastal environment.
- 2
Salt-protected copper pipes and wiring
Pipes and wiring receive extra insulation and protection from sea salt and moisture.
- 3
Protected and precise drainage
We install drainage at ideal angles using salt-protected pipes to prevent water pooling and salt seepage into the outdoor unit.
Before the visit

FAQ
Questions about Split AC installation
Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?
Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.
Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?
New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.
Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?
Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.
Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?
It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.
What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?
We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.
Is salinity higher in Al Andalus than other areas?
Yes, the direct coastal location means very high salinity in the air. We select units with advanced corrosion-resistant finishes and extra-protected piping.
Very high humidity, does it affect electrical insulation?
High humidity can weaken insulation over time. We use high-quality, moisture-protected wiring and connections, and ensure the unit runs safely.
Is split installation different in a coastal villa versus a coastal flat?
The basics are the same, but villas usually need outdoor units on more exposed walls facing the salt. We assess the site on the first visit.
What about maintenance costs in a salty environment?
We recommend maintenance every three to four months to clean salt and dust. Proper installation and resistant materials reduce corrosion problems and extend unit life.
