Split AC installation in Al Murooj

In Al Murooj at Jeddah's far north, split installation faces insulation and routing challenges in modern, spread-out villas with spacious outdoor areas. Alrabih's team selects the optimal outdoor-unit position and vacuums the line before start-up to ensure cooling begins without efficiency loss.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Murooj is a modern district of separate, spacious villas with gardens and large yards, and open streets between the blocks. The long distances between indoor and outdoor units mean longer copper runs than other areas, requiring extra insulation and careful vacuuming to prevent refrigerant leaks and pressure loss. The fierce summer heat and little natural shade around the villas increase the load, so choosing the right capacity is essential for sustained cool running through the season.

Al Murooj sits at Jeddah's far north, marked by modern spacious villas with wide gardens and open streets.

Most villas in Al Murooj need copper runs of 8 to 15 metres because outdoor units are mounted well away from view, usually on side or back yard walls.

The AC setup in Al Murooj

  1. 1

Single or multiple splits depending on villa size

Larger villas in Al Murooj may need two or more units, each serving a section with separate copper runs.

  2. 2

Insulated copper with thick gauge for long runs

Long distances demand thicker copper gauge and heavier insulation to prevent pressure and efficiency loss over the run.

  3. 3

Outdoor unit in side or back yard, away from direct sun

The outdoor unit is positioned in shaded or semi-shaded spot to reduce direct heat impact on cooling performance.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Murooj

  1. 1

Arrange access to the yard and outer walls

Ensure the team can easily access the yard for the outdoor unit and inner walls to route the copper.

  2. 2

Choose the outdoor unit spot considering shade

Focus with the team on finding a shaded or semi-shaded position away from all-day direct sun exposure.

  3. 3

Check the villa's total electrical capacity

If planning multiple units, confirm the main electrical panel has capacity for all units combined.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

My villa is large and the distance is long, does extending the copper affect performance?

Yes, longer copper runs need thicker insulation and more careful vacuuming to prevent pressure and cooling loss. We choose the right copper gauge according to the distance.

The back yard faces the sun all day, does that affect the outdoor unit?

Yes, direct sun increases the outdoor unit's temperature and reduces efficiency. Where possible, we mount it in a shaded spot or fit a protective shade above it.

The heat here is intense, how do I choose the right split capacity?

We need to know the villa's size, number of rooms, windows and thermal insulation. Sometimes one unit is not enough, so we may recommend two connected on one circuit.

Do the long copper runs need extra electrical power?

No, electrical power depends on unit capacity, not copper length. However, long runs need slightly thicker wiring to reduce current loss.
