Split AC installation in Al Rawdah

In Al Rawdah, west Jeddah, split installation in residential complexes and villas needs coordination with building management or the villa owner. Alrabih's team schedules the work, positions both units precisely, and purges the line before start-up to ensure effective cooling from day one.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Rawdah is a relatively modern district mixing separate modern villas and mid-rise apartment blocks with varying outdoor space. Some villas are spacious with large yards, while some blocks hold flats with limited outdoor unit space. West-side summer heat is comparable to other areas, but coordination with building management or residents is essential because many flats share roofs or narrow passages. Villas in Al Rawdah offer more flexibility in choosing the outdoor-unit location.

Al Rawdah sits in west Jeddah, mixing modern villas and mid-rise residential blocks with varied outdoor space.

Some flats in Al Rawdah have no private roof, so outdoor units are mounted on building facades or in building passages with management's approval.

The AC setup in Al Rawdah

  1. 1

Separate split per flat or villa

Each home in Al Rawdah, flat or villa, usually has its own unit because central ducting is rarely feasible in buildings old or new.

  2. 2

Outdoor unit on facade wall or balcony

Outdoor units mount on flat facade walls or back-balconies in villas, depending on space and approval.

  3. 3

Moderate copper run depending on outdoor-unit position

Distance between units varies by building layout but usually stays moderate and manageable in small flats and villas.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rawdah

  1. 1

Get building management or villa owner approval

If you live in an apartment block, obtain written approval from management on the outdoor-unit location before scheduling installation.

  2. 2

Choose the best outdoor-unit spot with the team

Arrange with the team before the visit about the best wall or balcony for the unit, away from neighbours and passage routes.

  3. 3

Ensure access to outdoor space is clear

On installation day, ensure the outdoor space for the unit is clear of obstacles and stored items.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

I live in an apartment block, do I need management approval before split installation?

Yes, most building management requires written approval before fitting the outdoor unit. We coordinate with them in advance and follow their rules on allowed positions.

My flat is small, can we mount the outdoor unit on the balcony or wall?

It depends on the building's design and management approval. Some allow wall mounting, others permit balcony placement if it does not block neighbours' views.

The western heat here is fierce, what split type suits my flat best?

We choose a unit sized for the flat's area and west-facing windows. Usually small flats need 1 to 1.5 tonnes, and larger ones may need 2 tonnes.

Shared roofs, do they prevent installing the outdoor unit?

Shared roofs need approval from all residents and building management. If not available, we fit it on the outer facade walls with management approval.
