Split AC installation in Al Sabeel

In Al Sabeel, just south of downtown, split installation is common in old flats and small shops where space is tight and walls are thick. Alrabih's team chooses the best route for insulated copper and ensures proper drainage with no drips from the start.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Sabeel's building stock is similar to Al Balad but less crowded, with small flats and worker housing, and old thick walls needing careful drilling. Installation here demands choosing the best route for copper through old walls without weakening the structure, and positioning the drain exit so drips do not fall on flats below or neighbouring shops.

Al Sabeel is an old residential and commercial district just south of downtown, mixing housing blocks with small neighbourhood shops.

Most outdoor units here mount on raised roofs or side walls to avoid bothering neighbours and prevent drips on passers-by.

The AC setup in Al Sabeel

  1. 1

Split per flat or small shop

Most units are independent per flat or small shop, mounted on interior walls or room corners.

  2. 2

Outdoor unit on roof or side wall

The outdoor unit typically goes on the roof or side wall to avoid crowding the front and keep drips off the street.

  3. 3

    Copper run through thick walls

Insulated copper runs through the thick walls from the indoor unit to the roof or exterior wall safely without weakening the structure.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

The building walls are very thick, does installation take longer?

The drilling may need extra care and proper tools, but the thick walls better protect the copper run from heat and humidity once done.

Can the outdoor unit go on the roof?

Yes, if the roof is safe and accessible, we mount it there and run the copper and drain securely and correctly.

The district is old with high humidity, does the drain need frequent maintenance?

High humidity raises the risk of drain blockage from algae and mould, so we clean the line before start-up and leave you maintenance instructions.

What is the typical distance between indoor and outdoor units in Al Sabeel?

Distance varies by room location and walls, typically 3 to 8 metres, but we confirm the exact run during the first visit.
