When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Aqeeq is a mixed district combining relatively modern apartment blocks with some small shops and restaurants on the lower floors. Windows vary in size and shape because buildings are of different ages. Heavy summer sun exposure increases the need for a powerful window unit and good sealing against heat loss and hot air. We focus on full levelling and strong sealing because the district is close to the coast.

Al Aqeeq is in north Jeddah, a mixed district of apartment blocks with small commercial shops and close to the coastal areas.

Window units are common here in both residential flats and small shops because they are straightforward to install and maintain in tight spaces.

The AC setup in Al Aqeeq

  1. 1

Window units for flats and small shops

Small shops and flats in Al Aqeeq need straightforward, powerful window units, which is what we install.

  2. 2

Windows of mixed ages and sizes

The district mixes newer and older buildings, so windows vary in size and need individual measurement and custom packing.

  3. 3

Strong sealing against salt and moisture

Nearness to the coast means stronger sealing, so we use durable materials and salt-resistant packing all around the frame.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

The shop is small and the window is old, is a window unit enough?

Yes, small shops often need just one strong window unit. We select the right size and seal it tightly to stop hot air leaking in.

The window is high up and the shop is busy, how do you install without fuss?

We coordinate with you to pick a quiet time during shop hours. We use a safe ladder to reach the high window and work efficiently.

The sun beats down every day, does sealing really help keep heat out?

Good sealing around the frame stops hot air seeping around the unit, but cooling performance also depends on the unit's power and the room size.

Salt in the air corrodes metal fast, how do you protect the unit?

We choose strong, salt-resistant sealant and fill every gap around the frame so salty air never enters the unit.
