When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Bawadir has relatively modern development with apartment blocks of medium to high rise, and its north-east location means year-round direct exposure to desert winds, dust and intense heat. Flat windows here are fairly standard, but harsh climate and strong winds demand top-grade sealing and exceptionally strong fixing. Installation requires very careful inspection of frame and sill and ensuring every tiny gap is sealed completely tight.

Al Bawadir lies in north-east Jeddah and comprises medium to high-rise residential towers in an open desert area.

Most windows here are uniform in size and spec, but constant north-east wind, dust and heat exposure means every installation requires special calibration and strong extra sealing.

The AC setup in Al Bawadir

  1. 1

    Standard window for high-rise flat

Most flats here in high towers have standard uniform windows, making selection straightforward while meeting high safety requirements.

  2. 2

Very strong frame with heavy-duty support sill

Harsh climate demands a very robust frame and thick sill, and we carefully check frame and glass integrity.

  3. 3

Regular gaps ready for tight sealing

Regular gaps around windows allow uniform robust filling with exceptional-thickness high-grade seals.

Before the visit

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

North-east winds are very strong, will they affect the AC performance?

Strong winds increase AC load, but our tight fixing ensures the unit is completely stable, and premium sealing greatly reduces hot air and dust ingress.

Dust enters everywhere, how do you protect the frame and gaps?

We fill all gaps around the frame with high-density thick seals and check tightness carefully and repeatedly before and after installation.

The height from ground is very high, are there special safety concerns?

Yes, our team is trained for high-rise work and uses standard safety gear, and the fitting is completely secure so it cannot slip or drop under any air pressure.

Intense heat plus humidity makes condensate drip fast, does this damage the wall?

No, we fit the unit with strong outward tilt so all water drains completely outside away from interior walls and frames.
