When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Kawthar is a relatively modern east-side area with up-to-date apartments with standard strong windows alongside some villas and older blocks, meaning different installation needs at each site. Window units here must be assessed by building type and frame strength, sealing must be tight against intense east heat especially on upper floors, and drainage must run free away from shared paths.

Al Kawthar is in east Jeddah, a relatively modern residential area with a mix of apartments, villas and some older blocks.

Windows in Al Kawthar range from robust modern frames in new apartments to older frames in older buildings, requiring advance assessment before installation.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

The 12th floor gets intense sun and heat, can the unit handle it?

Units can handle intense heat, but we need very tight sealing around the frame and ensure good ventilation for the outdoor unit on the roof.

My building is 15 years old, the frames have some cracks, can we install?

We inspect the frame and wall; if cracks are surface-level we can install with very strong sealing, otherwise we may need reinforcement first.

Does the outdoor unit need a quiet spot away from the street?

The outdoor unit needs good ventilation and clear of obstructions; away from the street is not essential but away from immediately adjacent living areas is preferable.

How long does window unit installation usually take?

Installation depends on frame condition and gaps around it; it typically takes 1.5 to 3 hours, the team will confirm the expected time before the appointment.
