Window AC installation in Al Murooj

Installing window AC units in Al Murooj serves the modern residential blocks in far northern Jeddah. The frame must be level and strong with every gap sealed tight, because the distance from the sea means high exposure to desert dust and strong northern winds.

When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Murooj is a relatively modern district in far northern Jeddah, with medium-rise residential blocks and standardised windows. The far-northern desert location means strong winds and fine dust nearly year-round, so precise installation with tight sealing is essential to keep dust and hot air out. The correct outward tilt also ensures condensate drains away from the flat's walls.

Al Murooj sits in far northern Jeddah, a district of modern residential blocks in a desert setting.

Al Murooj's windows are standardised, and outdoor units receive direct exposure to northerly and north-westerly winds from the desert.

The AC setup in Al Murooj

  1. 1

Window unit in standardised frame with strong sealing

Al Murooj's windows are standardised, so installation is direct with heavy-duty sealing to stop dust and wind.

  2. 2

Enhanced brackets resistant to strong winds

Strong northerly winds call for heavier brackets than standard to keep the unit stable.

  3. 3

Drainage system protected from dust and water

The drainage outlet is designed to keep desert dust out while letting condensate flow freely.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Murooj

  1. 1

Confirm the window frame is strong and sound

Ensure the frame is solid and crack-free, as it must support the unit's weight plus wind pressure.

  2. 2

Tell us about prevailing wind direction from your flat

If you know which way the strongest winds come (usually north or north-west), let us know so we can angle installation and sealing accordingly.

  3. 3

Clear obstacles and curtains from the window

Give clear space around the window inside and out so the team can work safely and securely.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

Al Murooj is far from the sea, does that reduce salt exposure?

Yes, Al Murooj's distance from the sea reduces salt-air exposure. However, the desert location means strong fine dust and constant northerly winds, so tight sealing around the unit is still essential.

Desert winds blow hard here, how do you secure the unit safely?

We account for prevailing wind direction and direct northern exposure. We use strong brackets and sealed framing to resist pressure and vibration.

Desert dust accumulates fast here, will it enter around the AC?

Constant fine dust exposure is real in Al Murooj. We seal every gap around the frame with durable, strong insulation to minimise dust ingress.

Is condensate drainage safe for the building's exterior wall?

We install the unit with precise tilt so condensate drains directly out through its outlet, not down the building's exterior wall.
