Window AC installation in Al Tadamun

In Al Tadamun, south Jeddah, window AC installation calls for careful setup because most residential flats were built with standard-width windows and walls that may not be perfectly level. Alrabih's team ensures the frame is level and sturdy, seals every gap against Jeddah's heat and salty dusty air, and tilts the unit to drain condensate outward.

When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Tadamun is a relatively modern residential district of medium-height apartment blocks with fairly uniform flat dimensions, and exterior walls often exposed to direct sunlight all day. Window AC installation here requires checking the strength of the outer wall and confirming no cracks will allow hot air and humidity to seep in, and possibly widening the window opening carefully if needed to fit the unit size.

Al Tadamun lies in south Jeddah, a modern residential area of medium-rise apartment blocks with standard-width windows.

Most Al Tadamun flats are smaller than northern villas, so window AC units are the main choice rather than separate indoor and outdoor splits.

The AC setup in Al Tadamun

  1. 1

    Single window unit per flat

Most Al Tadamun flats rely on a single window unit because their size is limited and does not call for multiple cooling points.

  2. 2

Standard-width windows in the outer wall

Windows here are fairly uniform in size, which calls for selecting AC units in standard sizes that fit the window width.

  3. 3

Exterior walls facing direct sun exposure

Most Al Tadamun exterior walls face direct sun all day, so strong thermal sealing around the frame is essential to keep hot air out.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

Will the flat's outer wall support the weight of a heavy window AC unit?

We inspect the wall's strength before installation and check for cracks or structural weakness that would affect stability. If there are concerns, we advise wall reinforcement or choosing an alternative location.

My flat is on a high floor, how do you get the unit to the window?

It depends on the floor height and access via stairs or lift. We coordinate with you beforehand to ensure the team can safely carry and install the unit without difficulty.

Does the intense heat and humidity in south Jeddah affect a window unit's efficiency?

Yes, high heat and humidity increase the cooling load on the unit. We carefully seal the gaps and filter, and test the unit's outward tilt after installation to ensure water drains efficiently.

The window is narrow and not level, can you still install the unit?

It depends on how unlevel the window is and the unit size. We may need to widen the opening slightly or select a smaller-capacity unit. We recommend a site visit to assess before purchase.
