Window AC installation in Al Zahra

In Al Zahra, west Jeddah, installing window ACs in sea-facing hotels and residential units demands protection against salt and humidity. Alrabih's team levels the frame, seals every gap with marine-resistant material, and ensures precise outward tilt to drain condensate away from interior walls.

When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Zahra is a relatively modern coastal district in west Jeddah, home to mid-range hotels, residential villas and sea-facing flats. The buildings are newer than central and southern areas, but windows and facades face constant sea winds, salt spray and high-humidity mist. The metal frames may be contemporary but need very strong sealing against marine infiltration, and condensation forms quickly here.

Al Zahra's windows are usually contemporary metal frames but face constant sea winds and salt spray requiring very strong sealing.

The AC setup in Al Zahra

  1. 1

Window AC protected against salt and marine moisture

Installation focuses on multi-layer sealing and rust-proof metal brackets because of direct sea exposure.

  2. 2

Outward tilt protected from salt blockage

The drainage opening is raised and unobstructed, with extra insulation preventing salt and sea debris from entering.

  3. 3

    Protected and cleanable ventilation openings

Air openings around the unit are easily accessible for regular cleaning of salt and debris.

Before the visit

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

Our hotel is right on the sea; will a window AC withstand the salt and wind?

Yes, provided the sealing is extremely tight and brackets are rust-proof. Our team uses strong salt-resistant materials and checks stability before completion.

Our sea-facing balconies have very high humidity; does this affect the unit's exterior?

Yes, humidity causes rapid condensation and can lead to corrosion. We choose salt and humidity-resistant sealing materials and metals, and recommend regular cleaning to prevent build-up.

How do you seal the window against salt spray from the sea?

We apply salt-resistant flexible sealant to all gaps between frame and wall, plus an extra insulating layer around the unit's edges to block infiltration from every angle.

Condensation accumulates quickly on the balcony; is the outward tilt sufficient?

Outward tilt ensures basic drainage, but in Al Zahra we recommend cleaning the drainage opening monthly to prevent blockages from salt and moisture.
