When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Bani Malik is a dense residential district with closely packed flats, some small villas and ground-floor shops, many built in different periods with varying frame strengths and window sizes. Streets here are narrow and buildings sit close, reducing natural ventilation and trapping heat between blocks, so installation demands very robust sealing against hot air and dust infiltration. Correct tilt and drainage are crucial because buildings are so closely spaced.

Bani Malik sits in central Jeddah with closely built residential blocks, narrow streets and high building density.

Most windows here have metal frames of varying ages, and some need reinforcement before unit mounting.

The AC setup in Bani Malik

  1. 1

Window units on closely packed flat windows

Closely packed flats in Bani Malik have windows that need very robust sealing to prevent hot air leaking through gaps.

  2. 2

Window units on small villas surrounded by buildings

Small villas here are often surrounded by other buildings, making proper tilt for condensate drainage even more important.

  3. 3

Window units on shops with older frames

Shops often have older frames needing careful inspection and reinforcement before installation.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

My building is old and the frame is weak, can I install a window unit?

We inspect the frame first, and if weak we reinforce it with extra metalwork before mounting to ensure safety.

The street is very narrow and the team cannot park near my window, what do I do?

We need to know the nearest safe parking point before the visit, and we may coordinate the timing during less busy street hours.

The residential blocks are very close and humidity is high, is the sealing adequate?

We use very robust sealing around the frame to protect against moisture and dust, paying special attention to frame corners and small gaps.

Condensate is close to an adjacent wall or another window, how do you direct it?

The correct outward tilt directs condensate away from adjacent walls, and in tight cases we add a small drain pipe to safely guide water away.
