When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Al Muntazah is a modern eastern neighbourhood with large villas and diverse residential blocks, where window units are often used as supplementary cooling alongside central AC. Eastern heat is less intense than the south but humidity is higher, causing faster rust and electrical wear. Humidity and corrosion issues are more common here than in southern areas, so quick effective repair before deterioration is important.

Al Muntazah is a modern neighbourhood in east Jeddah with large villas and diverse residential blocks set in wide open spaces.

Window units here are often supplementary to central AC in villas, or the main solution in small flats and spare rooms.

The AC setup in Al Muntazah

  1. 1

Window units supplementary to central AC

In large villas, window units provide extra cooling for private wings or rooms not covered by central AC.

  2. 2

Single window units in small flats

Small flats and spare rooms typically rely on one window unit as the main cooling solution.

  3. 3

Mounted on modern windows with strong frames

Modern Al Muntazah windows provide safe, easy-to-maintain mounting, though humidity may cause corrosion in metal parts.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Muntazah

  1. 1

Tell us about rust or corrosion level

Describing visible rust or corrosion helps us quickly assess whether repair is possible or replacement is better.

  2. 2

Ensure the outdoor unit is easily accessible

The outdoor unit may be far from the window or hidden behind balcony furniture, so let us know its location so the team brings ladders or necessary tools.

  3. 3

Have a nearby electrical outlet ready for testing

During repair, we may need to test the electrical circuit and motor, so having a nearby outlet makes the process easier.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My window AC has rust on the inside or outside, will cleaning remove it?

Light rust may clean off, but deep rust can weaken the structure. We assess the rust level and tell you whether repair is possible or replacement is better, especially with eastern humidity.

Does high eastern humidity affect window AC performance?

Yes, humidity causes faster wear on the motor and electrical circuits. Regular cleaning and drying are more crucial here than in other areas, and we recommend seasonal service to maintain performance.

Are window units suitable for large villas or do I need split or central AC?

Window units suit individual rooms and spare wings only, not whole-villa cooling. If you are cooling one area, the window unit suffices; for full coverage, central or multi-head split is better.

My window AC sometimes trips the room's circuit breaker, what is wrong?

The circuit may be weak or the motor drawing high current due to blockage or wear. We check the electrics and motor, and may need to consult an electrician if the problem is in the main wiring.
