When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Basateen is a bustling popular neighbourhood packed with shops, restaurants, cafés and small sweet shops, with narrow streets and closely built blocks, so display fridges face heavy pressure from repeated openings and crowd heat. Dust and cooking smoke from restaurants accumulate fast on the condenser and fans, and humidity rises from constant traffic and limited ventilation between buildings. Fogged glass or warm shelves damage the shop's reputation and customer trust in the food.

Al Basateen sits in north Jeddah, a bustling popular neighbourhood of shops, restaurants, cafés and small sweets shops.

Most cabinets here are medium units in restaurants, sweet shops and cafés, with condensers usually mounted on narrow facades or in cramped rear spaces.

The AC setup in Al Basateen

  1. 1

Medium display units in restaurants and sweet shops

Sweet shops and small restaurants in Al Basateen use medium-sized cabinets with single or double glass.

  2. 2

    Condensers squeezed into tight corners

Condensers are placed in very tight spaces behind the shop due to street and building constraints, limiting airflow.

  3. 3

    Multiple small units in cafés

Some small cafés run multiple small units to display drinks and ice cream in different spots.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Basateen

  1. 1

Schedule during a quiet period, away from rush hours

The shop is busy all the time, so pick early morning or after closing if possible.

  2. 2

Tell us the exact location of the condenser

The condenser may be in a very tight space or on an outside wall, so tell us its exact location before we arrive.

  3. 3

Clear limited space in front and behind the cabinet

The tight shop means limited space, but make sure the team can access front and back for inspection and cleaning.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

Cooking smoke from nearby restaurants coats my display fridge, does that harm it?

Yes, smoke and cooking oils coat the condenser and fans and block ventilation. We clean the condenser monthly in high-smoke areas.

My shop is busy and the street is narrow, can you reach the fridge easily?

Yes, our team is used to tight, busy neighbourhoods. We schedule in a quiet slot and carry tools by hand if needed.

Shelves are not evenly cold, especially during peak hours, why?

Repeated opening and crowd heat raise the load beyond a weak condenser's capacity. We clean condenser fans and inspect the internal air distributor.

Can you service it in a busy neighbourhood without long sales downtime?

Yes, we focus on quick checks and cleaning without stopping cooling. For major repairs we agree the best off-peak time with you.
