When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Falah is a balanced residential-commercial area with small grocery shops, a local supermarket and delivery restaurants relying on display fridges to maintain ingredient quality. The location near Jeddah's coast means constant high humidity and salt-laden winds affecting the fridge's external metal parts. High summer heat combined with coastal humidity causes dust and salt to build up on vents and the condenser faster, reducing cooling efficiency and raising power consumption.

Al Falah sits in east Jeddah near the coastal regions, mixing residential areas with small food shops.

Most display fridges here face direct exposure to coastal humidity, salt and dust on the condenser and external parts.

The AC setup in Al Falah

  1. 1

Open display fridges in grocery shops

Most small shops in Al Falah use open display fridges with air curtains to display dairy, cheese and chilled items.

  2. 2

    Cold storage units for restaurants

Restaurants and cafés in Al Falah use closed display fridges for cold storage of ingredients and beverages.

  3. 3

Direct coastal environment impact on metal parts

Fridges' external parts are exposed to salt and humidity, requiring extra protection and regular inspections.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Falah

  1. 1

    Check the last maintenance date

Tell us when the fridge was last serviced and what recent problems you've noticed before we visit.

  2. 2

    Provide safe working space

Ensure the area around the fridge is clear of obstacles so the team can reach the condenser, fans and external parts.

  3. 3

Turn off the fridge before the visit

Switching off the fridge half an hour before the team arrives helps cool the condenser and makes inspection and cleaning easier.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My display fridge is rusting outside and performing poorly, what's causing this?

Coastal humidity and salt in the air cause rapid rusting on external metal parts and block vents. We clean the condenser and vents and check corrosion protection.

The fridge uses a lot of power, is that normal in Al Falah?

No, high consumption usually means dust and salt buildup on the condenser or a failing air curtain. Regular checks reduce consumption and extend fridge life.

Does Al Falah's coastal humidity affect the fridge's cooling power?

Yes, high humidity and salt in the air increase the cooling load and reduce condenser efficiency. Maintenance every two months is essential.

Is there a difference between servicing a display fridge in Al Falah versus an inland area?

Yes, in coastal Al Falah we focus more on cleaning the condenser and salt-exposed parts, and may need more frequent checks.
