When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Fanar is a relatively modern district with tall spacious buildings and upmarket shops and restaurants on the ground floors. Display fridges here run under very high strain because hotels and restaurants operate them continuously at high intensity, and the nearby sea air carries salt and fine dust that seeps into the condenser. High summer temperatures and year-round humidity stress the compressor and fan, demanding frequent checks to ensure the unit sustains peak performance.

Al Fanar sits far north Jeddah near the coastal road, a modern zone of upmarket hotels, restaurants and large shops.

Display fridges in Al Fanar hotels and large restaurants are mostly large horizontal composite units with powerful condensers, placed in high-impact visible locations.

The AC setup in Al Fanar

  1. 1

    Large horizontal composite display unit

Large hotels and restaurants use big horizontal composite display units with substantial depth and length, with powerful condensers on the rear or bottom.

  2. 2

    Powerful condensers with multiple fans

The large units here require powerful condensers and multiple fans to dissipate heat from big cabinets running continuously.

  3. 3

    Advanced moisture drainage system

High humidity and intensive use require an advanced drainage system to prevent water pooling and mould inside the cabinet.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Fanar

  1. 1

Clear the fridge area of customers temporarily

The fridge will be opened or paused, so clear the area around it for team safety and customer protection.

  2. 2

Ensure easy access to the outdoor unit

The outdoor unit is relatively large and may be on the roof or rear wall, so ensure the team can reach it safely.

  3. 3

Tell us peak and quiet hours

Hotels and restaurants are busy at specific times, so suggest the best visit time when customer flow is lightest and downtime impact is least.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My fridge runs non-stop day and night, does this affect its lifespan?

Yes, continuous operation greatly stresses the compressor and fan. We regularly check compressor performance and refrigerant pressure to ensure all components handle the intensive use.

Sea salt affects the condenser, how do you protect it?

Sea salt speeds condenser mesh corrosion. We inspect it monthly or bi-monthly, clean it deeply to remove salt and dust, and check metals for early erosion.

Year-round high humidity, does this affect performance?

High humidity increases strain on the fan and compressor and speeds internal moisture buildup. We regularly inspect the moisture drainage system and fan to ensure efficient humidity management.

When should the air filter be cleaned or replaced?

Hotels and restaurants need filter cleaning every one to two weeks due to intensive use. We inspect filter condition on each condenser cleaning visit and recommend replacement when necessary.
