When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us the make, model and the fault you see, plus your district, so the technician arrives with the right tools and likely parts.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

We check the condenser, fan, gaskets and refrigerant pressure on site and identify the real cause before starting any repair.

  3. 3

    Repair and clean

We clean the condenser of grease and dust, replace the faulty part and top up refrigerant if needed, all while keeping disruption to your work as short as possible.

  4. 4

    Temperature check and handover

After the repair we let the fridge run and measure the cabinet temperature until it reaches the correct range, then hand the unit back to you.

What sets this district apart

Al Fanar is a far northern coastal zone near beaches and ports, mixing small food shops and restaurants with older workshops and warehouses of varying age. High coastal humidity and airborne salt cause early rust on the condenser and metal fan parts, and gaskets wear faster. Salt and humidity buildup on condenser coils sharply cuts efficiency, and drains clog quickly from combined grease and salt. Frequent maintenance is more critical here than in inland districts.

Al Fanar is a far northern coastal district with mixed commercial, workshop and old and modern residential blocks near the sea.

Commercial fridges in Al Fanar's restaurants and shops need intensive maintenance owing to salt and humidity corrosion, and their condensers rust faster than inland units.

The AC setup in Al Fanar

  1. 1

Shop display fridges with corroded metal frames

Shop and restaurant fridges in Al Fanar often show rust on the frame and condenser owing to high coastal salt and humidity.

  2. 2

Open condensers exposed to coastal air

Most condensers here are open with no protective covers, increasing exposure to salt, humidity and sea dust.

  3. 3

Older units with weak drain pipes

Several older Al Fanar fridges have damaged or chronically clogged drain pipes from salt and grease.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Fanar

  1. 1

Open the shop door or move the fridge from the wall

Al Fanar fridges often sit against outer walls exposed to salt and damp. Make sure the rear and sides of the condenser are freely accessible before the visit.

  2. 2

Locate water taps and drain points

Tell us where the nearest water tap and floor drain are so we can clean the condenser and drain lines effectively.

  3. 3

Protect items near water and moisture

If other items are near the fridge, move or cover them before the visit as condenser cleaning requires water spray and deep washing.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

My fridge is near the beach and salt corrodes the metal, how do I protect it?

Salt and humidity accelerate rust on the condenser and metal frame. We clean the condenser and exposed parts frequently and apply protective coating if needed, and advise weekly fan and connection checks.

My restaurant is near the port and the humidity is very high, does it damage the fridge?

Extreme humidity speeds mould and rust in the condenser, gaskets and drain. We inspect these areas deeply and clean them with disinfectants to prevent bacterial and mould growth.

My drain line clogs constantly, what does this mean?

Grease, salt and humidity combine to clog the drain line quickly in coastal areas. We deep-clean the drain and inspect the tube for cracks or permanent blockage.

The wiring and connections are rusty from salt, is that dangerous?

Yes, rust on wires and connections raises the risk of circuit failure and fire. We check connections and plugs carefully and advise immediate replacement of any corroded wire or worn connector.
