When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Rawasi is a mixed residential district with many restaurants, cafés and juice and beverage shops, all running display fridges repeatedly for long hours. The heat and seasonal humidity in east Jeddah, combined with heavy use and frequent customer door openings, put significant strain on the cooling system. The fridges may sit in tight spaces or near cooking areas where kitchen heat adds extra burden.

Al Rawasi sits in Jeddah's residential and service-oriented east, a district of restaurants, cafés and juice shops clustered along active residential streets.

Display fridges in Al Rawasi restaurants and cafés are typically medium to large units with glass doors or display windows, running long daily hours due to heavy customer traffic.

The AC setup in Al Rawasi

  1. 1

Medium to large display fridge with glass door

Restaurants and cafés in Al Rawasi use medium or large display fridges with full glass doors to showcase drinks and juices attractively while maintaining chill.

  2. 2

Separate condenser positioned some distance away

Fridges in restaurants and cafés typically need a separate condenser positioned away from cooking areas to avoid kitchen heat.

  3. 3

Long refrigerant lines with thermal insulation

The distance between fridge and condenser means longer refrigerant lines, which need strong thermal insulation to maintain cooling efficiency.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rawasi

  1. 1

Map out the fridge, kitchen and condenser locations

Tell us where the fridge sits relative to the kitchen, and where the condenser will be (outside, on the roof, or another cool spot) before the visit.

  2. 2

Ensure access to pipes and connections

Make sure our team can easily access the refrigerant pipes and electrical connections, especially if they are hidden or mounted on walls.

  3. 3

Schedule the visit during off-peak hours

Restaurants and cafés are busy during peak hours, so choose a visit time away from the rush to make our work easier.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My fridge is next to the kitchen and it gets hot, does that affect cooling?

Yes, kitchen heat significantly increases the load on the condenser and fans. We regularly clean the condenser and fans and check the cooling capacity to ensure the unit handles the extra burden.

Customers open the fridge constantly, does that affect the beverages?

Constant opening loses chill and increases strain. We check the air curtain strength and condenser to ensure the fridge quickly recovers its set temperature after each opening.

Juices and drinks need specific coldness, how do you check the temperatures?

We use a digital thermometer to measure temperature at different levels of the fridge. We check that cooling is balanced across all levels to ensure all drinks stay properly chilled.

The condenser is far from the fridge, does that affect the pipes and connections?

Long pipes can reduce cooling efficiency if not properly insulated. We clean the pipes, check the thermal insulation and inspect all connections during maintenance.
