When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Rughamah is a mixed residential and commercial neighbourhood with modest shops, local markets, small cafés and family restaurants, most using only one or two display units. Buildings here are older than the newer eastern zones, streets are narrower and outdoor space is limited, making condenser placement on tight roofs or confined corners a challenge for fan servicing and cleaning. Moisture and dust accumulate quickly in this compressed setting, so servicing every six weeks keeps the fridge running efficiently.

Al Rughamah lies in east Jeddah, a relatively older residential and commercial zone with small shops and local markets spread across narrower streets.

Most small shops and restaurants here use one or at most two display units, positioned in the storefront or beside the entrance.

The AC setup in Al Rughamah (Abraq Al Rughamah)

  1. 1

Single old and modern display units

Small shops and local markets use individual display units, some older without smart sensors and some newer.

  2. 2

Fridges placed in tight corners on rooftops

Condensers and fans are often mounted on tight roofs or in corners between buildings due to limited outdoor space.

  3. 3

    Simple non-centralised cooling systems

Each display unit has its own separate cooling unit, simplifying individual servicing of each device.

Ensure the roof or corner where the outdoor unit sits is safe and easily accessible for our team.

  3. 3

Inform the shop owner of the visit time

Let the shop owner or manager know the agreed time to avoid any disruption during servicing.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

I have a small shop with limited space, can you service my fridge?

Yes, we service fridges in small shops, and our team works in tight spaces and carries tools by hand when needed.

My shop roof is very tight and the condenser is wedged in a corner, can you reach it?

We need to see the location beforehand to assess access and working space. Send a photo of the condenser or call us to arrange a brief site visit before service.

My fridge is old and has no smart sensors, can you upgrade it?

We service both old and modern fridges, but installing new smart sensors requires a specialist technician and electrical modification. We can advise or refer you to the right specialist.

The street outside is narrow with no parking, how do you get your team in?

We carry servicing and diagnostic tools by hand and park the vehicle at the nearest safe point. Advance coordination with the shop owner about timing and location ensures smooth service.
