When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Tawfeeq is a mixed commercial and residential area with many poultry, fish, pastry and bakery shops, all relying on display fridges set to precise temperatures. The high humidity in east Jeddah and the district's relative nearness to the coast increase moisture buildup inside the unit, affecting cooling efficiency and coil life. Heavy and frequent door opening also puts extra strain on the system.

Al Tawfeeq lies in Jeddah's commercial east, a district of shops specialising in poultry, fish and pastries mixed with residential buildings.

Display fridges in Al Tawfeeq are typically high-capacity units with multiple glass doors and powerful air curtains, since frozen and fresh stock require precise, uniform cooling.

The AC setup in Al Tawfeeq

  1. 1

Display fridge with multiple glass doors

Poultry, fish and pastry shops in Al Tawfeeq use long display fridges with multiple glass doors to showcase large volumes of stock at uniform temperatures.

  2. 2

    Powerful and efficient air curtain

A strong air curtain keeps the cold air inside and blocks warm shop air from entering, which is essential in humid districts.

  3. 3

    Heavy-duty condenser for intensive use

Fish and poultry shops run their fridges at full capacity for long hours, so they need a robust, reliable condenser that handles continuous strain.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Tawfeeq

  1. 1

Clear drainage holes before the visit

Make sure the humidity drainage holes at the bottom of the fridge are clear of dirt and debris before the visit day.

  2. 2

Tell us your shop hours and peak times

Fish and poultry shops get crowded at certain times, so let us know when best to visit away from the busy periods.

  3. 3

Ensure the condenser is easily accessible

Tell us where the condenser unit is (behind the fridge or outside) and make sure it can be easily reached for inspection and cleaning.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My fridge is leaking water, is that normal in a humid area?

Leaks usually come from blocked humidity drainage holes. The high humidity in east Jeddah increases water buildup, so we regularly clear the drainage holes and channels to prevent accumulation.

The fridge doors open constantly from customers, does that hurt cooling?

Yes, frequent opening increases strain on the condenser and fans. We check the air curtain and cooling capacity to ensure the system handles heavy use without losing temperature control.

Fish and poultry need specific chilling, how do you verify the temperatures?

We use a digital thermometer on each shelf to ensure the fridge maintains the temperatures needed to keep poultry and fish safely preserved.

The cooling coils may get dirty from fish, can you clean them?

Yes, we carefully clean the coils and fans from dirt and residue that builds up with heavy use, improving cooling efficiency and extending the fridge's lifespan.
