When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Wafa is a medium-density mixed residential and commercial zone with small villas, apartment blocks and shops spread across roomier spaces than older districts, with mostly open streets and better natural ventilation. Display fridges here face moderate thermal pressure compared to coastal or dense inland areas, but dust and dirt buildup remains a threat when fridges run continuously. The air curtain and temperature balance need regular checking to maintain peak performance.

Al Wafa lies east Jeddah and is a medium-density residential and commercial zone with roomier planning and better natural ventilation than older districts.

Display fridges in Al Wafa are scattered among shops with better ventilation, but dust buildup remains a threat without regular cleaning.

The AC setup in Al Wafa

  1. 1

Separate display units in shops and restaurants

Most Al Wafa shops use standalone display units with designs varied by shop needs.

  2. 2

Shared cooling systems in some chains and restaurants

Some retail chains and larger restaurants in Al Wafa may use central cooling serving multiple display units.

  3. 3

Compact glass-front fridges in cafés and small shops

Cafés and small Al Wafa shops often use compact glass-front display units, which need care with air curtain and internal ventilation.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

Is cleaning a fridge different in Al Wafa compared to other areas?

Al Wafa has better natural ventilation than cramped areas, but dust and dirt accumulate at a similar pace. We advise regular cleaning every month to six weeks to maintain performance.

Summer heat is very high here, does it affect the fridge more than other areas?

High ambient heat increases cooling load at a moderate rate in Al Wafa compared to coastal areas. Regular condenser and fan checks ensure cooling efficiency even in hot weather.

My shop is new and the fridge is new, how often do I really need to clean it?

Even new fridges accumulate dirt and dust with continuous use. We advise monthly cleaning at first to establish the buildup rate, then you may reduce frequency as needed.

The fridge power cable runs across the shop floor facing the street, is this safe?

Cable runs across walkways can cause trip hazards or damage. We inspect the connection and suggest rerouting it or using safe cable covers where possible.
