When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Umm Al Salam is an active commercial district with diverse shops, restaurants and small to medium supermarkets, and the infrastructure is relatively modern with wide streets and easy parking. Display chillers here run at high intensity all day in Jeddah's hot and humid climate, so dust builds up on the condenser quickly and the air curtain efficiency may drop or shelf temperatures may vary, affecting both product quality and cabinet appeal.

Umm Al Salam is in east Jeddah, a modern commercial district with shops, restaurants and small supermarkets.

Most display chillers in shops here are built-in units with top or bottom condensers, and need regular maintenance because of the heavy daily load.

The AC setup in Umm Al Salam

  1. 1

    Top-mounted display units

Most shops and restaurants in Umm Al Salam use display chillers with the condenser on top, which fits medium retail spaces well.

  2. 2

    Bottom-mounted units for small supermarkets

Some small supermarkets choose bottom-mounted chillers to keep space above the cabinet clear for ventilation.

  3. 3

    Multi-shelf high-load display cabinets

Hotels and larger restaurants in the district rely on multi-shelf display cabinets with very heavy daily load.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Umm Al Salam

  1. 1

Book a time that suits your shop's hours

Shops and restaurants in Umm Al Salam often run long hours, so confirm a time that does not disrupt customers or sales.

  2. 2

Ensure the team can reach your shop

Umm Al Salam has good street access and parking, but let us know your shop location and which entrance is closest to the chiller.

  3. 3

Clear space around the chiller for inspection

Make sure the area in front of and behind the chiller is clear so the team can inspect and repair it easily.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My display fridge frosts over and the stock loses its appeal, how do I fix it?

Fogging usually signals a weak air curtain or drainage issue. We inspect the whole system and repair it to restore clarity and protect your stock.

The street near my shop is fairly tight, can you reach it easily with equipment?

Umm Al Salam has reasonably wide streets and parking is available, so we can bring equipment without trouble.

Jeddah's heat is intense, does this affect the chiller's performance?

Yes, Jeddah's high heat and coastal humidity increase the cooling load on the condenser, dust builds up faster and efficiency drops. Regular cleaning of the condenser and fans is essential to maintain performance.

Is my shop's existing power supply enough, or does the chiller need its own circuit?

That depends on the chiller's capacity and your current wiring. We check the electrical setup on the visit and advise you based on the unit's needs.
