When duct quality makes the difference

  1. 1

    Duct losing cold air

An open seam or an unsealed joint loses cold air before it reaches the room. We close every seam with Foster sealant in the workshop before shipping, so the seal does not depend on site work alone.

  2. 2

    Condensation wetting the ceiling

In Jeddah's humid air any bare metal surface sweats and drips onto the ceiling or damages the unit insulation. We wrap with Kimmco or Armaflex at the thickness the site calls for.

  3. 3

A project with many duct runs

A villa or commercial building needs main trunks, branches and plenums in several sizes. We make sections in the workshop numbered to the site plan, so the hanging crew assembles without cutting or adjusting.

Who it's for

  • Replacing your villa's AC and need new ductwork

We make supply and return trunks and plenums to your villa's dimensions, insulated and numbered, ready for the hanging crew without any on-site cutting.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send sizes or drawings

Send us the duct drawing or a list of section sizes. If sizes are not fixed yet, we agree a site survey before production starts.

  2. 2

    Review sizes and sheet gauge

We check each section's dimensions and pick the right sheet thickness for the duct size, then confirm quantities with you before cutting begins.

  3. 3

    Fabricate, seal and insulate

We cut and fold the G90 galvanised sheet, lock the seams with Foster sealant, and wrap each section with Kimmco or Armaflex insulation in the workshop before shipment.

  4. 4

    Number and deliver

We mark each section with its position and dimension from the site plan, so the hanging team identifies every piece without confusion and starts work on arrival.

What sets this district apart

Al Shara'i features modern multi-storey blocks and commercial complexes with regular interiors and spacious roof areas that allow central ductwork runs. This layout demands precisely measured ducts to serve multiple storeys and zones in a single building, and workshop manufacturing delivers better efficiency and prevents the leaks that happen in long runs when cut on site. Jeddah's coastal humidity makes full insulation essential to prevent condensation inside ceilings and walls.

Al Shara'i is in east Jeddah, a district of modern multi-storey blocks and commercial complexes with spacious interiors.

Residential blocks and commercial complexes here use central AC with unified ducts across multiple storeys, requiring precise measurement and full insulation to prevent cold loss.

The AC setup in Al Shara'i

  1. 1

    Multi-storey unified trunks

Modern blocks in Al Shara'i use unified trunks running from the central unit on the roof or ground floor up multiple storeys.

  2. 2

Numbered branches per storey and zone

Unified trunks have numbered branches that split to each storey and zone, making installation and future maintenance straightforward.

  3. 3

Reinforced insulation to prevent inter-storey condensation

Ducts are fully wrapped with fibreglass to prevent condensation on ceilings and walls between storeys in Jeddah's humid conditions.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Shara'i

  1. 1

    Obtain detailed floor plans

Before the first measurement, provide clear floor plans for each level showing where the indoor units, ducts, and target ceilings are.

  2. 2

    Confirm roof and basement access

Make sure the roof where the central unit sits and the inter-storey voids are safely accessible for measuring runs and hanging ducts.

  3. 3

    Prepare storage for numbered sections

Set aside safe space on site to stage the delivered numbered sections before installation, away from direct weather exposure.

FAQ

Questions about AC duct manufacturing

How do you make sure the duct does not leak air at the seams?

We close the long seams with a tight mechanical lock as the sheet is formed, then seal every seam and every joint between sections with Foster sealant before insulating. Sections leave the workshop with matching flanges that tighten evenly when hung, because any small gap in cold duct means lost air and a point where condensation forms.

Does the duct arrive ready to hang, or is it assembled on site?

Sections arrive fabricated, insulated, sealed and numbered to the route drawing, so the fitters know where each piece goes without cutting or altering on site. What is left on site is joining the sections, fixing them to the hangers and connecting the unit and outlets, which shortens the work above the ceiling.

Do you make plenums for cassette and cabinet units?

Yes, we fabricate plenums for both types. A cassette unit plenum is measured to match the unit's outlet frame exactly so air reaches the branch runs without leaking at the connection. A cabinet unit plenum is made to carry both the supply and return paths if the design calls for it. Both types are insulated with Kimmco or Armaflex and sealed with Foster sealant before they leave the workshop.

Can you manufacture duct for a large commercial project?

Yes. The workshop is equipped to fabricate large supply and return trunk runs suited to commercial, government and industrial buildings. Each section is made to the project drawings, numbered and delivered ready to hang after insulation and sealing. When engineering drawings are available, the technical team reviews them before fabrication starts to confirm that the duct dimensions fit the ceiling voids on site.

Why are the duct sections insulated in the workshop before delivery?

The duct carries cold air through a ceiling void that may be hot and humid. Without external insulation, water vapour condenses on the cold sheet and drips onto the false ceiling or the goods below. So each section is wrapped in Kimmco or Armaflex in our workshop and every edge and joint is sealed with Foster sealant before delivery.

Our block is large; can you manufacture ducts for multiple indoor units in one building?

Yes, we manufacture unified trunks to serve multiple zones in one building, ensuring balanced cold-air distribution and returns across all storeys.

The long corridors in our commercial complex, how do you prevent duct leaks across them?

We manufacture ducts in one piece or numbered segments, sealing every joint with Foster at the workshop, so there are no leaks across the long runs in the corridors.

Does coastal humidity affect the internal ceilings; does insulation protect the ducts?

Yes, full duct insulation at the workshop prevents moisture condensing on the duct's inner surface and the ceiling around it in Jeddah's humid climate.

How long to manufacture ducts for a multi-storey block?

It depends on the project size, number of storeys, and segments; send precise drawings early so we can deliver sections to match your construction schedule.
