When duct quality makes the difference

  1. 1

    Duct losing cold air

An open seam or an unsealed joint loses cold air before it reaches the room. We close every seam with Foster sealant in the workshop before shipping, so the seal does not depend on site work alone.

  2. 2

    Condensation wetting the ceiling

In Jeddah's humid air any bare metal surface sweats and drips onto the ceiling or damages the unit insulation. We wrap with Kimmco or Armaflex at the thickness the site calls for.

  3. 3

A project with many duct runs

A villa or commercial building needs main trunks, branches and plenums in several sizes. We make sections in the workshop numbered to the site plan, so the hanging crew assembles without cutting or adjusting.

Who it's for

  • Replacing your villa's AC and need new ductwork

We make supply and return trunks and plenums to your villa's dimensions, insulated and numbered, ready for the hanging crew without any on-site cutting.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send sizes or drawings

Send us the duct drawing or a list of section sizes. If sizes are not fixed yet, we agree a site survey before production starts.

  2. 2

    Review sizes and sheet gauge

We check each section's dimensions and pick the right sheet thickness for the duct size, then confirm quantities with you before cutting begins.

  3. 3

    Fabricate, seal and insulate

We cut and fold the G90 galvanised sheet, lock the seams with Foster sealant, and wrap each section with Kimmco or Armaflex insulation in the workshop before shipment.

  4. 4

    Number and deliver

We mark each section with its position and dimension from the site plan, so the hanging team identifies every piece without confusion and starts work on arrival.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.

What sets this district apart

Umm Sidrah's rapidly growing projects house many flats and studios, with each central unit serving multiple units through complex numbered ducts. Field-cutting in these dense projects causes major cool-air loss and unbalanced air distribution across flats. Full workshop fabrication ensures even distribution and consistent insulation, reducing complaints about poor cooling in some units.

Umm Sidrah is in north-east Jeddah, a district of dense modern residential investment projects with many flats and studios.

Most projects here have dozens of units served by one or two central units, requiring complex, tightly sealed distribution ducts.

The AC setup in Umm Sidrah

  1. 1

    Multi-branch main distribution ducts

Dense projects need long main ducts with many branches, each feeding a precisely calculated flat group.

  2. 2

    Distributed outlets with damper dampers

We fabricate different-sized outlets for each flat or studio, with dampers to balance cool air as needed.

  3. 3

    Highly sealed insulated ducts

Dense projects need top sealing and insulation standards to minimise leakage between closely spaced flats.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Umm Sidrah

  1. 1

Have the full project plan with flat numbering

Send the full project blueprint with each flat and studio numbered and located before we calculate.

  2. 2

Pinpoint central unit location and ceiling/attic

Specify central unit location and length and height of attic or ceiling runs, essential for duct layout.

  3. 3

Tell us the flat and studio count

Specify the total number of flats and studios and how they are distributed across floors or sections for precise duct calculation.

FAQ

Questions about AC duct manufacturing

How do you make sure the duct does not leak air at the seams?

We close the long seams with a tight mechanical lock as the sheet is formed, then seal every seam and every joint between sections with Foster sealant before insulating. Sections leave the workshop with matching flanges that tighten evenly when hung, because any small gap in cold duct means lost air and a point where condensation forms.

Does the duct arrive ready to hang, or is it assembled on site?

Sections arrive fabricated, insulated, sealed and numbered to the route drawing, so the fitters know where each piece goes without cutting or altering on site. What is left on site is joining the sections, fixing them to the hangers and connecting the unit and outlets, which shortens the work above the ceiling.

Do you make plenums for cassette and cabinet units?

Yes, we fabricate plenums for both types. A cassette unit plenum is measured to match the unit's outlet frame exactly so air reaches the branch runs without leaking at the connection. A cabinet unit plenum is made to carry both the supply and return paths if the design calls for it. Both types are insulated with Kimmco or Armaflex and sealed with Foster sealant before they leave the workshop.

Can you manufacture duct for a large commercial project?

Yes. The workshop is equipped to fabricate large supply and return trunk runs suited to commercial, government and industrial buildings. Each section is made to the project drawings, numbered and delivered ready to hang after insulation and sealing. When engineering drawings are available, the technical team reviews them before fabrication starts to confirm that the duct dimensions fit the ceiling voids on site.

Why are the duct sections insulated in the workshop before delivery?

The duct carries cold air through a ceiling void that may be hot and humid. Without external insulation, water vapour condenses on the cold sheet and drips onto the false ceiling or the goods below. So each section is wrapped in Kimmco or Armaflex in our workshop and every edge and joint is sealed with Foster sealant before delivery.

Our project has 40 flats and one central unit, how do you make balanced distribution ducts for that many units?

We fabricate main distribution ducts then branches for each flat group, with outlets and diameters calculated to balance cool air across all units.

The studios are very small, can you make appropriately sized outlets for them?

Yes, we fabricate smaller outlets sized for each studio, allowing efficient cooling without waste in tight spaces.

Some residents complain of poor cooling in their units, could unbalanced ducts be the cause?

Yes, field-cut or poorly sealed ducts cause cold-air loss and imbalance. Workshop-made and properly sealed ducts distribute air evenly.

How many sections and outlets does a 40-flat project need?

It depends on the flat layout and central unit location; send the project blueprint and we'll calculate the exact section and outlet count.
