Dedicated duct workshop

Duct fabrication in Al Falah

In Al Falah, East Jeddah, the residential towers and hotels expanding across the district need precise duct fabrication for their central cooling systems. Alrabih manufactures rectangular and round duct in the workshop from site measurements or engineering drawings, delivering it ready to hang with no air leakage at the joints.

Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Falah is a fast-growing area of tall residential blocks and modern hotel complexes, each needing intricate central duct networks running across multiple floors and tight passages. On-site duct cutting loses precision and cannot form complex transitions and elbows correctly, but Alrabih's workshop fabricates from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet before delivery, ensuring perfect fit and no air loss when installed in the building.

Al Falah sits in East Jeddah, a modern growth area of residential towers and hotels with relatively open spacing between the buildings.

Most residential and hotel projects here rely on complex central duct systems because of the buildings' height and floor count.

The AC setup in Al Falah

  1. 1

Central duct networks for residential towers

The tall buildings in Al Falah need duct networks branching from a central cooling unit to multiple floors, with complex elbows and transitions that we prefabricate.

  2. 2

    Insulated duct for hotel systems

Hotels need insulated duct to cut heat and humidity loss in long corridors between suites, and we weld aluminium with polyurethane insulation.

  3. 3

    Transitions and complex elbows

Complex networks call for transitions from rectangular to round section, non-standard angled elbows, and we fabricate all of this in the workshop without delay.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Falah

  1. 1

    Obtain the system engineering drawings

Send us the duct engineering drawings at least a week before the site visit so we can start measurement and calculation in parallel with the prefab timeline.

  2. 2

Confirm the central unit location and outlets

Confirm where the main cooling unit sits and where the air outlets are on each floor, as this determines the duct length and transitions we need to fabricate.

  3. 3

Check access to the duct routes

Inspect the passages and voids between floors where the duct will run, and confirm they are clear of obstructions before we deliver the fabricated pipes.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

How do you deliver fabricated duct to building sites in Al Falah?

We measure the duct from the site or engineering drawings, wait for dimension confirmation from the contractor or engineer, then deliver the fabricated duct ready to install in a covered vehicle to protect the pipes during transit.

Do you work with contractors specialising in hotels and large residential complexes?

Yes, we work on multi-storey residential and hotel projects and supply duct in large quantities to match the project schedule.

Do Al Falah's open building spacing affect how you route the duct?

The open gaps between buildings give more room for outdoor units and duct routes, but longer runs may need more transitions, which we calculate in the workshop before fabrication.

Do East Jeddah's high temperatures affect which duct material you choose?

High temperatures in East Jeddah make G90 galvanised steel and aluminium the better choice, as they retain their strength under thermal expansion, which we recommend in every project.
