Dedicated duct workshop

Duct fabrication in Al Sabeel

In Al Sabeel in central Jeddah, modern and mid-rise buildings use extensive central AC ductwork, yet site-cut duct loses the dimensions and detail these systems need. We fabricate rectangular and round duct with precision in our workshop, so it arrives ready to install quickly and with no air loss.

Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Sabeel features a mix of mid-rise residential blocks, offices and smaller hotels, mostly built in recent decades with wider interior spaces than old-town districts, yet central ductwork here is complex, spanning multiple floors and different sections. Workshop fabrication saves time and ensures precision, as sections arrive ready for immediate installation and reduce the risk of poor joints and air leaks that harm cooling efficiency.

Al Sabeel sits in central Jeddah between Al Balad and the northern districts, a zone of mid-rise residential blocks, offices and smaller hotels.

Al Sabeel's networks blend rectangular duct in passages and concealed ceilings with smaller round duct in branch runs.

The AC setup in Al Sabeel

  1. 1

    Rectangular duct in concealed ceilings

Most hotels and offices in Al Sabeel use suspended ceilings, so we fabricate rectangular duct that fits the limited height precisely.

  2. 2

    Round branches for air distribution

Secondary branches reaching rooms and offices are round for ease of installation and quick connection.

  3. 3

Transition pieces from rectangular to round

We fabricate transition pieces connecting the main rectangular duct to round branches, keeping the network uniform and air loss minimal.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Sabeel

  1. 1

    Get complete architectural drawings

Provide detailed architectural drawings for every floor, especially suspended ceilings and passages, so we can measure the duct route accurately.

  2. 2

Mark all outlet and inlet locations

Mark every inlet and outlet location and the height of each room or section, so the duct arrives measured to the exact dimensions.

  3. 3

Confirm safe access to ceiling and passages

Verify that the installation team can safely access the suspended ceiling and passages where duct will run before delivery.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

We have a small hotel with AC ductwork spanning multiple floors, can you handle that?

Yes, we fabricate complex multi-floor ductwork in our workshop to drawings or full survey, so each section arrives ready to connect easily on every floor.

The hotel needs duct hidden in the suspended ceiling, does that affect fabrication?

No, we measure the suspended ceiling and available space before fabrication and section the duct to fit precisely within the limited ceiling height.

The air in Al Sabeel carries dust from busy roads, does that affect duct metals?

Dust affects outlet maintenance rather than the metals themselves, but we use G90 galvanized steel and aluminium to protect duct from corrosion over time.

Our building has old and new sections, how do you run duct between them?

We measure each section separately and fabricate transition pieces that connect them smoothly, so no on-site adjustments are needed.
