Dedicated duct workshop
Duct fabrication in Al Safa
In Al Safa, central Jeddah, hotels, offices and commercial centres rely on central AC with precise ducting. Alrabih fabricates duct in the workshop to exact measurements so it arrives ready to install with no air loss.

Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?
- 1
A contractor with project-specific sizes
Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.
- 2
Fittings too awkward to cut on site
Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.
- 3
Extending or renovating an existing duct network
You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.
Who it's for
Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes
We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

What the fabrication covers
- Site measure or drawings
- G90 or aluminium duct
- Elbows transitions and takeoffs
- Tight seams to SMACNA
- Labelled sections ready to hang
How we work
How we work
- 1
Take measurements
A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.
- 2
Fabricate sections and fittings
We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.
- 3
Label and prepare for delivery
We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.
- 4
Deliver to site
We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.
Workshop fabrication or site cutting?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensional accuracy | Workshop machines, tight dims | Hand variation on site |
| Complex fittings | Correct elbows and transitions | Distorted, leaking air |
| Seam quality | Tight lock, low leakage | Gaps weaken pressure |
| Site schedule | Arrives ready to hang | Extra time and site noise |
| Salt and humidity | Aluminium where site demands | One sheet regardless |

What sets this district apart
Al Safa is a modern central district of tall residential and commercial buildings with mid-scale hotel and office projects, all relying on central AC distributed through horizontal and vertical duct networks. On-site hand-fabrication cannot meet the precision these systems demand, whereas workshop manufacturing cuts leakage and speeds installation in tight spaces between suspended ceilings and interior walls.
Al Safa sits in modern central Jeddah, a district of tall mixed-use buildings blending residential, commercial and hotel functions.
Most AC systems here distribute air through rectangular duct running through suspended ceilings and walls with multiple angles and varied outlets per floor.
The AC setup in Al Safa
- 1
Multi-bend rectangular duct for suspended ceilings
Mid-rise buildings in Al Safa rely on rectangular duct running through complex horizontal and vertical paths due to ceiling and wall constraints.
- 2
Multiple outlet points per floor and zone
Each floor and zone needs separate air outlets, so we fabricate custom offsets and bends in the workshop to exact measurements.
- 3
Tight joints to minimise air leakage
Workshop-fabricated duct arrives with uniform, precise joints, minimising cool-air loss throughout the distribution network.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Safa
- 1
Supply architectural drawings of the building and ceilings
Before measurement, request architectural drawings of the suspended ceilings and interior walls from the engineer so we plot the duct path accurately.
- 2
Identify the main unit and all outlet locations
Confirm the location of the main AHU and every air outlet point on each floor before the visit so we measure accurately.
- 3
Arrange access to ceilings and interior spaces
If ceilings are sealed or spaces are restricted, ensure the team can access overhead and tight areas on the measurement day.

FAQ
Questions about Duct fabrication
Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?
Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.
What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?
G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.
Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?
Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.
How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?
Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.
Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?
Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.
Our hotel needs duct across several storeys with tight suspended ceilings, can you do it?
Yes, we measure precisely on each floor and fabricate duct in the workshop to fit the tight space between ceilings and walls.
Can you fabricate duct with complex shapes and bends?
We fabricate rectangular and round duct with complex bends, offsets and junctions in the workshop from galvanized or aluminium sheet.
Al Safa has high coastal humidity, does that affect metal duct?
Galvanized duct resists rust in humid coastal air, and precise measurements with tight joints minimise moisture ingress into the duct network.
How quickly can duct be ready after ordering?
Delivery depends on project size and duct complexity, and we coordinate the schedule with you once we receive measurements or drawings.
