Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Obaid is seeing rapid growth in medium and large residential and hotel projects, most needing central AC systems with complex duct routes through gypsum ceilings and thick concrete walls. On-site fabrication or simple cutting cannot give the precision these projects demand, so we shop-build the runs, elbows and transitions to engineered drawings or exact site measurements.

Obaid is a growing south Jeddah district known for new residential and hotel projects that demand central AC systems with complex duct layouts.

Most central AC systems in Obaid's new projects need rectangular duct with multiple transitions and elbows to distribute air evenly across floors and wings.

The AC setup in Obaid

  1. 1

    Rectangular duct with complex transitions

New hotel and residential projects here need rectangular duct that changes section and transitions between ceilings and walls, which we shop-fabricate with precision.

  2. 2

    Complex fittings: elbows and takeoffs

Central systems in Obaid projects need 45 and 90 degree elbows and takeoffs to multiple wings, all fabricated in-shop before installation.

  3. 3

    G90 galvanized or aluminium duct

We use G90 galvanized for durability and rust protection, or aluminium for projects needing lighter weight in gypsum ceilings.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Obaid

  1. 1

    Provide drawings or precise measurements

Send engineered drawings or precise site measurements before our visit so we fabricate duct with the right dimensions from the start.

  2. 2

Confirm ceiling and concrete wall positions

Mark where gypsum ceilings, beams and concrete walls are, since this affects the elbows and transitions we need to design.

  3. 3

    Clarify distribution points and outlets

Mark where air takeoffs go to each wing or room so we fabricate the right number and size of branches.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

Is shop-fabricated duct better than on-site cutting?

Yes, the shop lets us measure precisely and fabricate complex elbows and transitions flawlessly, whereas on-site cutting risks mismatch at joints and air leakage.

Our new residential project needs engineered duct drawings, do you help?

Yes, we accept drawings from your engineer and fabricate to spec, or we measure the site ourselves and propose the fabrication before starting.

In summer heat, does properly fabricated duct reduce cold-air loss?

Yes, tight seams with no gaps keep cold air in and prevent leakage, whereas on-site-cut duct can lose cooling through gaps and loose joints.

Metal duct needs reinforcement before hanging in a gypsum ceiling, how do you handle it?

We fabricate duct at the right gauge and provide a clear hanging map, and the installation crew hangs it with properly sized metal supports according to duct weight.
