When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Hijaz factories are medium-sized, working in assembly and processing to light manufacturing. Buildings here are newer than Al Furusiyah but space and budgets are still tight compared to Kilo 14 mills. Heat comes from machinery and sun, and the workshop may expand production later. So we design a simple, maintainable central cooling system that can grow with added stages or units later. Filtration here is less complex than chemical or food plants, but needs regular maintenance schedules.

Al Hijaz is in east Jeddah's industrial zone, a district of medium-sized factories with moderate floor space and growth aspirations.

Most factories here need a simple central cooling system with metal ducts, with room for future expansion.

The AC setup in Al Hijaz

  1. 1

    Simple expandable central cooling

Al Hijaz factories need a central system with moderate capacity and simple metal ducts, with room to add units or zones later.

  2. 2

    Multi-stage filters with quick replacement

We fit multi-stage filters to reduce dust accumulation, with design allowing quick replacement without lengthy downtime.

  3. 3

Outdoor unit with capacity margin for growth

We choose the outdoor unit with slightly higher capacity than today's need to provide a safety margin for future expansion.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Hijaz

  1. 1

    Outline growth and expansion plans

Tell us about expected growth in coming years and any plans to add machinery or floor space, so we size the system with adequate margin.

  2. 2

Map major machinery locations and hot spots

Send us a diagram showing machinery locations and hot zones so we route cooling ducts efficiently.

  3. 3

Confirm outdoor unit location and electrical proximity

Identify the outdoor unit location and confirm the electrical panel is nearby to avoid expensive wiring extensions.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

Our factory may grow in coming years, can the cooling system be expanded later?

Yes, we design the system so you can add units or ducts later. We choose core equipment with reasonable capacity rather than sizing only for today's space.

Is a central system better than multiple split units?

A central system is cheaper long-term and easier to maintain, but requires higher upfront cost. Multiple splits are cheaper now but require more servicing. We evaluate both options against your budget and expected growth.

Do dust and metal from machinery clog filters quickly?

Yes, it depends on machinery type and materials. We choose multi-stage filters and recommend monthly check and cleaning at minimum.

How many times a year does the system need full maintenance?

We recommend full maintenance every three to six months, depending on usage intensity and dust levels. Light assembly shops may need less than heavy workshops.
