When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Ma'rifah's buildings are medium-sized and sometimes adjoining, with moderate ceiling heights, so the system needs to balance space cooling with safe ventilation without affecting neighbouring buildings. Dust and fumes from maintenance and crafts differ from heavy industry, calling for mid-capacity filters and controlled exhaust points. Coordination with the workshop owner is essential since buildings are often shared or very closely sited.

Al Ma'rifah is a craft and commercial zone in northern Jeddah, with maintenance workshops and artisanal production in medium-sized buildings.

Most workshops here use large split or semi-central units with mid-range filters because the spaces are smaller than factories but usage is denser.

The AC setup in Al Ma'rifah

  1. 1

    Single large split unit

Most medium workshops here rely on one large split unit with enough cooling capacity, with copper piping hidden as far as practical.

  2. 2

    Multi-stage filtration for fumes

Craft workshops need standard filters plus fume-rated stages to keep work air clean without rapid clogging.

  3. 3

    Exhaust pointed away from neighbours

Exhaust points are directed to discharge warm air and fumes toward a safe direction away from neighbouring buildings and entrances.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Ma'rifah

  1. 1

Tell us about the equipment and processes

List the types of equipment and any chemical or craft processes so we can pre-select the right filters and ventilation before we arrive.

  2. 2

Identify available space for the outdoor unit

Let us know if roof or wall space is available for mounting, and how far it is from neighbouring buildings or power lines.

  3. 3

Coordinate with the workshop owner about installation times

Agree with us on installation times that do not disrupt work, especially if the workshop is shared with others in the same building.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

Our workshop adjoins another, will ventilation affect our neighbours?

We position exhaust points so they do not blow directly toward adjoining buildings, and choose ventilation directions that respect the boundary between workshops.

We have fumes from welding and chemicals, will standard filters work?

No, we select filters rated for welding and chemical fumes, and may add an extra purification stage depending on the materials your workshop uses.

Our workshop is small with a low ceiling, will one unit suffice?

We measure the space and heat load from your equipment, and may use one large unit or two smaller ones distributed as needed.

Can we mount the outdoor unit on the wall instead of the roof?

Yes, if the wall can bear the weight and safe fixing, we assess the site first and confirm the unit will not block any entrance or window for your building or neighbours.
