When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.

What sets this district apart

Old Airport is a mixed-use area with diverse workshops (equipment repair, light manufacturing), storage warehouses, commercial terminals and logistics company offices, with buildings of varying size and type and ceilings from mid to very high. Use varies daily: some workshops run hot from machinery, some warehouses need only light cooling. Water drainage and coping with heavy dust from industrial activity and the former airport add challenges. Filters need frequent replacement and the system must be adjustable for changing demands.

Old Airport lies in Jeddah's central industrial area, a mixed-use zone of workshops, warehouses and logistics terminals.

Workshops and warehouses here use separate or central cooling units depending on space size and activity, with room for adjustment and expansion as needed.

The AC setup in Old Airport

  1. 1

    Adjustable separate cooling units

Small workshops and warehouses benefit from adjustable separate units with smart controls that allow temperature tuning based on daily needs.

  2. 2

    Expandable central system

Large warehouses need a robust central system with room to add units or ducts later without complete redesign.

  3. 3

Heavy-duty filter system for industrial dust

Industrial activities and old airport dust require advanced multi-stage filters with intensive inspection and replacement schedules to maintain continuous performance.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Old Airport

  1. 1

Describe main activities and expected heat loads

Tell us what activities happen in the workshop or warehouse (repair, manufacturing, storage) and what machinery and equipment is there, so we can estimate thermal and humidity load accurately.

  2. 2

Provide space layout and current building configuration

Send the overall layout and locations of entries, windows and ceilings, plus any separate sections or areas needing special cooling.

  3. 3

Confirm drainage, power and external access points

Identify drainage points and safe routes for outdoor-unit mounting, and verify that your electrical system can handle new cooling units.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

How do we set up cooling in a workshop where daily use varies?

We select medium to high-capacity units that can be adjusted to demand. We install smart controls that allow temperature and fan adjustment based on daily activity, saving energy while maintaining comfort.

Industrial dust is very heavy, how do we protect the filters?

We install strong multi-stage filters with high resistance to heavy dust. We recommend weekly inspection and replacement every one to six weeks depending on industrial intensity. Regular maintenance keeps the system efficient.

The Old Airport area is somewhat humid, does this affect cooling?

Yes, humidity increases dehumidification load. We select units with strong dehumidification capacity and recommend a reliable water-drainage system and regular checks to prevent condensation and mould on equipment and inventory.

Can we expand the cooling system later if the workshop or warehouse grows?

Yes, we design the system flexibly to allow future additions. We select units, wiring and piping that permit adding new units or increasing capacity without dismantling the whole system. We support any later expansions.
