When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

We check the condenser, fan, gaskets and refrigerant pressure on site and identify the real cause before starting any repair.

  3. 3

    Repair and clean

We clean the condenser of grease and dust, replace the faulty part and top up refrigerant if needed, all while keeping disruption to your work as short as possible.

  4. 4

    Temperature check and handover

After the repair we let the fridge run and measure the cabinet temperature until it reaches the correct range, then hand the unit back to you.

What sets this district apart

Al Mahamid is a relatively older neighbourhood in east Jeddah with small food shops, traditional restaurants, bakeries and neighbourhood cafés, buildings closer together and spaces tighter. Fridges here are mostly small-to-medium and crammed into very tight spaces because the shops and kitchens are narrow. The outdoor coil is hard to reach, often mounted on a cramped balcony or small yard. Dust and grit accumulate fast in these confined areas, and the compressor runs hard from poor ventilation. We focus on intense cleaning and slow, precise checks.

Al Mahamid lies in east Jeddah, a relatively older residential and commercial zone with small shops, neighbourhood restaurants and bakeries.

Most small shops and restaurants here use very compact display fridges with 100-to-200-litre capacity in very tight spaces.

The AC setup in Al Mahamid

  1. 1

Very small display fridges in tight shops

Small food shops and cafés use ultra-compact display units with 100-to-150-litre capacity squeezed into very limited space.

  2. 2

Small horizontal freezers in bakeries and restaurants

Bakeries and traditional restaurants use small horizontal freezers for dough and frozen items in a tight footprint.

  3. 3

Individual portable fridges in some cafés

Some very small cafés use portable mini-fridges or half-size units because ventilation is poor and space is extremely limited.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Mahamid

  1. 1

Clear the area around the fridge completely

Remove all items and goods around the fridge completely, ensuring the team can move safely in the tight shop without obstacles.

  2. 2

Provide details on the outdoor coil location

Tell us exactly where the outdoor coil is, on a narrow external balcony, small yard, or even inside the shop, so we prepare for safe access.

  3. 3

    Disconnect power before the visit

Disconnect the fridge's power before the team arrives, as the tight space requires slow safe work without electrical hazards.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

The shop is tiny and the fridge is wedged in a corner, how do you service it?

We service the fridge in place very carefully. We lift the outdoor coil and temporarily widen the space for safe access, then reposition it precisely.

I cannot reach the outdoor coil from outside the shop, how can you clean it?

We disassemble the coil from the inside or tight balcony side carefully, clean it with pressure jets, then refit it safely without disconnecting main lines.

The fridge gathers grime and mould fast, is the tight space to blame?

Yes, fridges in tight spaces gather dust and mould faster from poor airflow. We recommend intensive cleaning every month or two.

The gasket is worn and the shop is warm, should I replace it or buy a new fridge?

A worn gasket costs a lot to run because it leaks air. We inspect and replace it easily, often restoring an older fridge to good working efficiency.
